Idk who this would be interesting to, but I live in Oregon and loved the show Everything Sucks, which is set in Boring, OR. I recently learned that a lot of it was shot in Oregon City, though, and I'm just a few towns away!
so the other day I went on my own little field trip to look at the filming locations.
Here's the school that was used for the outside shots of Boring High:
I parked in the lot where Mr. Messner and Mrs. O'Neil smoked weed, lol. There was this cute little ticket booth by the small sports field too:
McLoughlin neighborhood is nearby, where they shot some scenes of Luke's house and probably Kate's too. This is what it looks like:
I think it does match the 90s vibes of the show. it was cool to know they filmed out there!
Maybe I'll go out to Boring to check that out too! The welcome sign from Everything Sucks isn't real, though :( But I think it’d be fun to see where the characters are supposed to be from.
American wins a gold medal for the second straight Olympics, and then pays tribute to his late mentor.

TOKYO (The Washington Post) — Days before he defended his Olympic gold medal, Ryan Crouser wanted to talk to his grandfather. The time here had stressed him. His friend Sam Kendricks, a U.S. pole vaulter champion, had tested positive for the coronavirus, and Crouser worried every test might knock him out. He was eating new food far from home. He would throw for the first time as the shot put world record holder. He felt emotionally depleted.
In moments like that, Larry Crouser would tell his grandson to stop and enjoy the moment. In recent years, as he battled cancer and advanced into his 80s, Larry Crouser lost his hearing. His grandson would write him notes, and Larry would read them and answer him. In his hotel room in the Athletes Village, Crouser pulled out a marker and a square placard and started writing.
Grandpa,
WE DID IT
2020 Olympic
Champion
Crouser put the cap back on the marker and breathed a sigh of relief. He would not feel nervous again.
“That was the last note I wanted to write to him,” Crouser said.

Sometimes when I’m sad I Google Boring, Oregon so I can laugh at them having shit like

Boring Public Library
Not really into football myself and am terrible at sports. A fictional mascott I made up for the fictional team, the Boring, Oregon Hyenas. Yeah, I know the team doesn’t exist. xD I had fun with this because hyenas are pretty awesome and they need to be mascotts more than they are.
but emaline's "hey good lookin'" has me weak
