Hey I'm super down to go to a korrasami fan meetup if you ever have one!
sweet! i’ll add you to the list of interested people! :)
Hey you know in light of the protests going on that John Mulaney post about white kids saying fuck da police is in bad taste. John Mulaney is racist (and ableist, sexist, etc, but that's a whole other story) and him making a joke about the police knowing he would never get in trouble is frustrating and troubling to see when I see black people being arrested and killed every day now by that same force. It's a reminder of the privilege white people have and not in a good way.
Oh he is? I know he's said a few sexist microaggressions but I didn't know him fucking up was... a continuing habit on a broader scale. I remember he did some standup about how white people don't get arrested for marijuana so I've always taken those comments as more of an acknowledgment of his own white privilege, not a joke at the cost of making fun of how poc do. But if it's a habit with him I guess that's...... not a good sign ya

HOPEFULLY PROMOTING MY OWN SHIT BY THEN lmaoo
Wait wasn't that raven interview supposed to mean that she was tired of being othered by white people (Asian American African American etc) and was just American? I saw a post or something that was like she isn't denying being black but denying the label white people use on her, but that may be a stretch now that I think about it..
Considering that she went on to talk about America being a colorless nation, nah. If you read the transcript, Oprah gave her multiple chances to clarify what she said. Instead of saying, “No, I don’t want to be othered,” she decided to go what was essentially the colorblind route. Trust me, I tried to give her as much leeway as possible when I first heard about it. I’ve always been a huge Raven fan. But the farther along she went in the interview, the farther she backed herself into a corner.
