I'm on the hunt for inner peace in a troubled time. Everywhere I turn, people feel the burn. Climbing to the top, gotta wait your turn. Drink in the pain. Devour the thoughts keeping you in chains.

Top 15 non-LPs of 2014
Alright so I know I'm not Anthony FantaNO or PitchDORK but I like music too so you know what I'm making some fucking lists. Top 15 non-LPs of 2014, check em out. Don't know if listing your favorite 15 non-LPs is excessive or whatever but I really kinda just wanna promote these bands, so I'm including links to a cool song or bandcamp if their shit isn't on the Youtube (and I'm also listing genres for you selective dips hits; jk but I'm still including them). You'll notice that the hardcore release to not-hardcore release ratio is a little unbalanced (yeah Born Low is my #3 even though they're a No Warning worship band, fuck you I jammed the shit out of that this year); but don't worry I'm an eclectic motherfucker I promise just wait til I post my top LPs of 2014 list. Also my list is in ascending order (AKA I LIKE NO. 1 MORE THAN NO. 15).

2014 is also the year of the NYHC-flavored/crossover/whatever EP/demo/split/whatever
Re-posting (not re-blogging) for people who missed it the first time (check out these fucking bands). Also, send me shit that sounds like this because my bedroom mosh is hard but I want, no, need it harder.
I haven’t been listening to a whole lot of hardcore lately, but with the new Casa de Diversion comp out, and with me feeling like a want to bash my head against a wall more and more each day, a resurgence of my interest in the genre has sparked within me. I fuck around with plenty of hardcore, but 2014 has seemed to spawn a bunch of releases spewing that NYHC/Leeway (Desperate Measures era) vibe that I’ve loved and still love so much. I personally think the style had become more cliche and less inspired over the past couple years (possibly due to the influx of kids who became hardcore warriors after they saw Backtrack open for The Ghost Inside (nothing wrong with that, and correlation does not equal causation)), but either that’s died down or those kids are just making awesome as shit music now. Check out these amazing/tasty/groovy bands; they each deserve more love than they’re getting and you’ll dig them especially if you dig:

Those are my favorite releases from this beast of a sub-subgenre that have been unleashed in 2014, but I know there are a ton of bands like this out there and you all know of some that I don’t, so shoot me some recommendations so that I can keep the crucial bedroom mosh fresh playboi. Feel free throw some full lengths at me too because How The Gods Chill was probably the only one (in this genre) I enjoyed this year. What other good NYHC/crossover-ish bands have put out shit this year, or recently?
