How do you think Boromir would aknowledge his eldest daughter syndrome? If even? I see in Boromir a lots of behaviour of a person who takes responsibility over other people, after the war that type of behaviour would be considered unecessery since everyone has, more or less, more liberty to roam and take responisibility over themselves. Do you think Faramir would get annoyed for being fret over by Boromir who all his life HAD to worry about other people? How do you think Boromir would adress his, not only war trauma and huge ammount of PTDS, but also his unhealthy attachments patterns, generational trauma (and being like literally groomed to die on the battle feild) and his, like I said, eldest daughter syndrome. Boromir's identity is made around his need to protect his brother and his people and what would happen if those people dont need protection anymore? Would he allow himself to have an identity crisis? I'm veeeeeery fascinated with all works under Boromir Lives AU since the character has huge ammount of trauma that NEEDS to be addressed if he wants to function in the post war world and im curious how people try to make the character adress that
In essence I agree with most of this reading, though just as a few points of order before I get started;
Eowyn and Boromir
Boromir is the ultimate big brother.
Boromir is the ultimate big brother because he loves Faramir, his little brother, dearly.
Boromir meets the hobbits and immediately adopts them, especially Merry and Pippin.
Boromir was bros with Theodred.
Eowyn is thematically tied to the hobbits.
Eowyn is especially tied to Merry.
Eowyn was Theodred's adopted younger sister.
Eowyn has parallels with Faramir.
Eowyn marries Faramir.
So to conclude, if Boromir had lived, he would have immediately adopted Eowyn as his little sister.
Questions for you Borodred fan
Yes, I have a very important question for you, about your OTP Boromir and Theodred.
In terms of timeline, did Boromir even know his beloved had died? or was he already with the fellowship? or was he dead also?
The thought just hit me in the head (while I am not particularly a Borodred fan, this story has a dramatic appeal to it), did any one of them learn of the demise of the other? or did they just go on in life hoping to meet the other again? Was their last thought for the other but the other was already away?
And... Will they meet somewhere? In the Hall of Mandos?
This sounds so terribly sad and hopeless.
Drabble challenge! Théodred as the character and “perfect” as the word. (Not putting my thumb on the scales at all! Though I do, indeed, believe him to be perfect, I will not be upset in the least if you apply the word to someone else or in a different context as part of your drabble! 🙂)
Thank you for the ask, and Rohan themed! Perfect... Théodred... It was almost too easy. I tried to give a little (sweet) twist! 🍦
'Wait, there's more coming!' The early summer sun played amongst the ivy leaves falling like curtains over the colonnade. Spots of light and shade danced across the table, making the crystal glasses and silver dishes sparkle under the crumbs and ruins of a copious meal. 'More?' Théodred stretched with a groan. 'It is all delicious, but I have had so much already, I am quite sure that Silverswift will refuse to carry me!' Boromir's gaze lazed over his arms, his neck, his chest, and flashed hopefully at the hem of his tunic for a glimpse of his bare skin. 'You cannot make me believe that you are full already. A strong rider like you needs his sustenance, and you had a long journey to get here!' Théodred puffed, rubbing his stomach. 'Well, it shall be a quite a culinary deed to convince me to eat any more than this.' 'Have some faith in the cooks of Minas Tirith!' A servant placed two chiseled coupes in front of them and slid away. Théodred marvelled at the alternating layers of fruit and smooth, cloud-like dollops. 'I must say, it does look nice...' He raised an expectant spoon. 'Peaches from the orchards of South Ithilien, raspberries from Lossarnach, cream of almond, aquafaba meringue, nectar of the maple, and just a hint of rose from the garden! But of course, if you are not hungry anymore, there is no need to--' 'And how do you call this?' slurred Théodred through a mouthful. 'A parfait,' smiled Boromir. 'It means perfect.' Their eyes laughed into each other's. 'Just like you.'
Théodred leaping into the water to save Boromir only to realize that wait. Boromir once swam half the width of the Anduin in full fucking armor at the age of forty while I live in a fully landlocked country.
Boromir, dragging Théodred onto the shore: who's morosexual now dipshit
Boromir & Théodred because @1337wtfomgbbq made me think of them again
So I am back on my Boromir/Théodred bullshit and I am compelled to point out that Éomer is the biggest follower of The Bro Code.
Boromir, talking about Rohan:
"Only from Rohan now will any men ride to us when we call."
"I know the Men of Rohan; true and valiant, our allies, dwelling still in the lands that we gave them long ago."
"If we cannot cross the mountains, let us journey southwards, until we come to the Gap of Rohan, where men are friendly to my people, taking the road that I followed on my way hither."
"I have myself been at whiles in Rohan."
Théoden, literally the first thing he says when waking:
"Alas!' he said, 'that these evil days should be mine, and should come in my old age instead of that peace which I have earned. Alas for Boromir the brave!"
Faramir, lamenting his brother:
"`Boromir, O Boromir!' he cried. `What did she say to you, the Lady that dies not? What did she see? What woke in your heart then? Why went you ever to LaurelindĂłrenan, and came not by your own road, upon the horses of Rohan riding home in the morning?"
Éomer:
"That was a worthy man! All spoke his praise. He came seldom to the Mark, for he was ever in the wars on the East-borders; but I have seen him."
Boromir: Rohan? Did someone mention Rohan? I love Rohan, I am always in Rohan, I spend all my time in Rohan, Rohan is the best.
Théoden: I just woke up from being bewitched and the first thing I think of is Boromir.
Faramir: We all expected Boromir to show up with the Rohirrim like always.
Éomer: Boromir! We all know and love him! My very good friend who I...I mean, right, who I barely know. He was certainly never in Rohan. I mean, I've seen him.
the only conclusion I am willing to draw from this with my very prejudiced view is that Boromir was in Rohan constantly, everyone knew him, but Éomer is still trying to cover for his cousin's affair.
Also this line from Éomer: "More like to the swift sons of Eorl than to the grave Men of Gondor he seemed to me." I'm sorry you expect me to believe that you have only barely met him, this man that was so huge that Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli could hardly move his body, you saw this enormous tall dark-haired man and you were like "Yes he seems like Us."
Leading to @absynthe--minded and I wondering if perhaps this is a case of, "Is he....you know....more like to the swift sons of Eorl?" wink wink.
