the piper and the fairy

Summary: You were friends with Maleficent since she was little when Aurora invites them to Prince Philip's palace and it ends in disaster. Maleficent and you end up injured and you wake up in a very strange place.

you felt sore you began to open your eyes you looked around you inspected the place it looked like a giant nest you got up from where you were resting you found your flute and started walking looking for maleficent as you walked you saw many tunnels some on the floor others on the ceiling and walls "where the hell it was."

You heard voices in one of the tunnels. You didn't know you would find yourself there, but you were curious. You started walking until the voices intensified until you began to hear well.

x: they hear it they hear it

you could see that all the vices were fairies cimo maleficent you noticed that the fairy who spoke was holding an iron bullet in her fingers

x: It is a message from humans I hear it loud and clear our death is approaching

He said, showing the bullet to all the fairies present.

x: Humans have used iron against us for centuries

you saw another fairy talk to him

x: and because of him he almost made us extinct

x: killing peasants near the Moors will only cause a conflict

So they were to blame for the dead humans near the Moors. You had to be careful. If they had already killed humans, they wouldn't be any different with you.

You were listening to their conversation when you noticed some eyes looking at you. You turned around and saw a fairy with white wings and hair of the same color looking at you. You stood rigid looking at him until the whole place became silent.

x: well it seems that our guest woke up

You heard, you saw how all the fairies turned to look at you, some with hatred in their eyes.

The fairy who was giving a speech flew quickly towards you, grabbing you and pushing you to the center of the place.

You fell to your knees, you saw how he looked at you with anger.

x: look at one of them, she could kill us if she wanted to but she is defenseless

He said while the other fairies laughed he knelt in front of you.

x: without iron you are weak

You looked at him angrily, you hated it when people told you that you were weak.

x: Did you want to kill that fairy?

You just looked at him confused. Was he talking about Maleficent?

x: answer me

x:borra leave her empath

You saw the fairy who was arguing with him and he did it to you, helping you get up.

x: are you okay

Borra: because you help her

x: because she hasn't done anything to us

Borra: she is a cruel being

The other fairies supported him. You were angry. You hadn't done anything to anyone. If they thought you were cruel, you would show them what you could do.

you took out your flute while you wet your lips

Borra: What do you think you'll do with that, huh?

you took a breath until you started playing a melody they laughed until they started dancing to the rhythm of the music the more you played they couldn't control themselves and it hurt if they resisted

Borra: stop what are you doing to us

x: enough

When you heard that voice you knew it was evil, you immediately stopped playing and looked at her, you ran towards her to see if she was okay.

Maleficent: I'm fine, who are you?

After clarifying who they were and where Maleficent came from, you felt happy for her.

She was with connal. You were in the part of the tundra. You were always attracted by the cold and the snow. You saw the children playing but you knew you couldn't get involved. You didn't want problems with their mothers.

You were sitting under a tree when you heard a flutter of wings, you saw next to you it was the same fairy that saw you when you were in a meeting, he turned around, you got up and walked back.

x I'm not going to hurt you, I'm udo

You looked at him, he seemed like he didn't want conflicts, so you let him do what.

udo: you are y/n no

You felt as you sat down he approached you.

Udo: I heard you can't talk, how do you communicate with her?

you looked at him and showed him your flute

Udo: ohh, could I listen?

He sat next to you while you began to play a melody that transmitted emotions.

udo: you know not all fairies are like borra he is very impulsive but that's what we go through

You looked at him listening to what he was saying.

Udo: I don't believe that all humans are bad, you are proof that there are good ones.

A small smile appeared at the corner of your lips.

borra was busy. there was no denying that. it didn't matter if it was fighting against humans or caring for other fey he rarely had time for himself and it took a toll on him, so you devised a plan. you stood behind a hidden wall of the nest you and Borra had together and shouted "Borra help! I'm hurt!" then waited. Within moments he rushed in "Y/n? Where are you are you?" he asked concerned. you tackled him from your hiding spot and pinned him to the ground in a cuddle, "what are you doing?!" he shouted, his wings flapping in annoyance "You need sleep, you're literally too tired to push me off and I'm nearly half your size." you smile. "i have work to be done." he says trying to shove you off. "you don't, I took care of everything. all you have to do is sleep" you smirk, he looks at you annoyed and sighs in defeat. "fine, for an hour" he grumbles. you cuddle up to him and kiss his cheek. "thank you my love" you say earning groans in return, he wraps his wings around you protectively before closing his eyes. A few hours later you woke up and try to escape his grasp but he held on tighter, "Don't leave." he mumbles "Borra its been more then an hour. i thought you had work to do?" you tease. "another hour wont hurt" he whispers pulling you back into him. you smile and kiss him, before returning to sleep wrapped in your love's arms.

it had been a month since the war between the fae and humans, a month since the crowning of the new king and queen. it had definitely been a strange change from the old home you once knew. instead of being confined without the walls of the large cave, you now had a forest and open sky to soar in. Many of the fae had gone to the Moores and lived under the protection of Maleficent and each other. though some did stay in the old home, believing that it would be too dangerous to live so close to the human kingdom. you had expected one of those fae to be Borra. seeing as how he despised humans and all they stood for, but to your surprise you found him lying on the crooked stump of a tree, bathing in the sun's warmth that shone between the leaves. you quietly walked over, your wings held up so as to not make noise against the ground, not wanting to wake him if he was asleep. As you neared you couldn't help but admire the way that the sun hit his face, illuminating his features. "Enjoying what you see y/n?" he asks with a closed eye expression, a teasing smirk gracing his face. "it's hard not to" you laugh "I'm surprised to see you, i honestly thought you would've stayed in our old home." you says sitting beside him "i honestly debated it, i understand that the human king and queen of alstead are close with maleficent and the creatures of the moores. but it is not them I'm worried about" he says, his playful smirk fading into a scowl at the thought of what the other human kingdoms may be planning. "so then why stay? what changed your mind enough to go against what you fear" you ask leaning your head on his shoulder. he doesn't answer, just softly takes your chin in his hand and brings his lips to yours. your kiss lasts a few seconds, but it feels like an eternity for you. "Does that answer your question" he mumbles against your lips, before returning to the kiss. you smile against him, butterfly fluttering in your stomach. the two of you stay like that for a few moments more, before pulling away and smiling at each other with love. "I've loved you for many years y/n," he says sweetly "Then why have you never said anything borra?" you ask "I was afraid of your rejection." he says. "i would never reject you borra, I love you too" you say leaning in and kissing him once more. even though they were rare, happy ever afters did exist along with true loves kiss. and you knew that this was yours.

a week after your meeting with borra, you couldn't stop thinking about him, he was the first magical being you've seen, he was beautiful and though intimadating, you wanted to meet him again. so, once more, when your family had been asleep, you grabbed your cloak and left for the moores. you had gone to the same spot you had first met, but not for the berry's this time, you sat on a small rock and waited for him to come. it wasn't for sure that he would, but you could hope. "i thought i told you to leave" a voice says from behind, you turned around to face him "i wanted to see you" you say, he gives a surprised look "oh, and why is that little human" he asks "your intriguing" you says, he gives a small chuckle, "your strange human, most would run at the site of me, wanting to save there stupid lives, but you stay" he begins to circle you "well I've always been one to break expectations" you joke, he hums "what is your name human?" he asks "y/n, what's yours?" he stops infront of you "borra" he says. "your one of the dark fey right? the ones that were at queen aurora and king Philips wedding" you ask, he nods "that must be cool, knowing the queen" you say, "its nothing, i dont concern myself with the human kingdom as much as some others do" he answers, you sit there admiring his horns, "are your horns heavy, their pretty big" you ask "i hardly feel them, I've been used to the feeling for years" he answers blankly. you two continued talking for hours, about the moores, your village and family, and same for him. the sun began to rise and you had to go home "i must return home, it was very nice to meet you borra, maybe we can meet again" you suggest, he gives a slight nods before flying off, you dont know if he did that to send you home faster or cause he wanted to meet you again, you guessed you would find out later that night when you snuck to meet him again.

you were a simple village girl, your family had a small stand where they sold berry's at the market. business had been more then usual, and your family could not keep up. your supply of berry's had began to run low, they weren't growing fast enough and without them your family couldn't afford your farm. so you did the only thing you thought there was to do. you waited until your family was asleep and snuck out, grabbing a cloak and basket, and heading off to the moores. the story's that had been told about the evil creatures inside that killed anyone who went near the borders played through your mind, but you continued on until you reached them. they looked like a normal entrance to a forest but you knew what lied in them so you told yourself you would only stay along the edge. after walking a bit, you had come across a small patch of berries, as you began picking them, there was slight rustling from behind, "h-hello" you say standing up from your kneeling position, and looking around. "i know your there, so come out" you say with a slight shout. you look towards a spot in the trees where the leaves began to rustle, out walked a man, with tall horns and large wings, he looked as if ready to kill. "what are you doing human" he glares at you, venom of hatred lacing his voice as he spoke. you stepped back slightly "I'm picking berry's, for my family fruit stand in the market" you say, eyeing him carefully ready to run if he attacked, "your stealing, those do not belong to you" he says, rustling his wings. "they dont belong to you either they are simple berry's, and since they were left unpicked you clearly weren't using them" he glares at that statement of yours, he glides over to you, getting up close to your face. "you would do best to not speak to me like that, i kill trespassers like you" he says getting closer, you noses are practically touching. "dont the moore folk have a peace with alstead, that would be breaking it" you say, he goes silent for a minute before backing off "go before i change my mind" he says walking away. you gathered a few more berry's and began your journey home.

I promised WIP and I don’t know if I’m keeping it in or if it’s just something to rustoleum my brain cells, but:

“You know you can stay, if you like.”

The usually-bare floors of Sarah’s little farmhouse beyond the moors were padded with blankets and quilts so thick that you could no longer feel the chill of winter from below. Much of the farmhouse was dressed that way; winter’s grip on the kingdoms ____.

Her new husband, John the baker, with his sheep’s wool curls and his almost indecipherable brogue, looked away from her oiled-bronze stove for a moment. There was no protest in the look. In fact, he didn’t even look at either of you – he’d done well to make sure there was enough wood to keep a fire going through the coldest months, and he certainly must’ve been hoping that some of the young wood mixed into his pile would dry eventually.

Full of sweet breads, fresh game and pieces of their abundant harvest, you inclined your head toward Borra as if you might be earnestly considering the offer. The furs that kept you warm weighed pleasantly on your limbs, and trapped the fire’s heat as well as your woven-grass bed on the moors. Even Arabella seemed content there, spread sidelong over the top of one of John the baker’s trunks.

The corner of his mouth quirked. Perhaps only toward you. Beneath the layers of fabric that stifled the unusual cold, his fingers traced the growing curve of your stomach. Above all things, your safety, and the safety of your child weighed upon your shared decisions.

“You may want a midwife when the baby comes.” Sarah kept talking, almost as if she was talking entirely to herself, while she folded fresh bedding for their own little corner of the room. “You’re welcome to stay then, too.”

“If y’stay that long,” John finally interrupted, though neither of you had yet to speak, “y’might as well move in.”

You’d grown accustomed to their playful back-and-forth. You’d grown accustomed to a lot of things, not that you would ever admit to them.
