so apparently the MFA Boston currently has an exhibit of John Singer Sargent portraits AND the clothing worn in them!

including THEE Ellen Terry Lady Macbeth beetle wing gown

yeah that’s right. that one.

so now I am trying plan a trip to Boston! It looks like my best best for a cheap flight is the first weekend in December.

I’ve never been to Boston before, so recommendations for where to stay & what to do (besides bask in the glory of the beetle wing gown) would be very welcome. Also would love to meet up with Boston-area mutuals!

What a fun trip to Boston yesterday! Brunch on Beacon Hill (with a book themed room!), followed by a micro bookstore and cat sanctuary 😻

Day 1 of touring Massachusetts. Part 4/4

4. Longfellow house, Peacefield, and Dorchester Heights Monument

Longfellow house, even though closed for the season, was super cool! It was Washington's headquarters during the siege of Boston.

Peacefield is the Adamses house! It was also closed for the season, but still cool. B)))) I will break into John's house /j.

Dorchester Heights is the position that decided the fate of the Boston siege. Of course, the Continental army pushed the British out of Boston.

Boston was amazing. All the pastries and coffees. Went to Concord (!!) for some author tours and found the best bookstore and coffee shop.

Massachusetts is my absolutely favourite place. Lots of inspo and some CE fics are coming. I promise
