It seems there's a whole host of bot and/or scam accounts trolling the #beta request tag. You can spot them because their whole blogs are about offering "beta services" though it's clear they don't know the difference between betaing (unpaid, fanfic only) and editing (paid, professional and monetizable works). The posts and replies I saw also had poor grammar, not what you'd expect on a post advertising editing services.
There are a few angles these scams could be going. It could be an extension of the bot comments on ao3, which are pushing back on protecting fanfic from bot scraping. If this was the case, you would be delivering your work to be harvested into an AI program, and then likely the bot would try to convince you the work isn't good enough to post, so you'd have a weaker copyright claim. It could even be straightforward theft, publishing your work to Amazon before you can post it, so you can't point to your publication date if you file a copyright complaint.
It could also be a new on ramp for a stuck pig scam, in which a human or humanlike bot builds an online relationship with their victim, then scams them out of money. Editing would be a good angle for this. They compliment your writing, say this is too good to post as fanfic, we need to publish it. Hey, I can get this published for you if you wire me $2000, but you're gonna make it up in sales in a week.
Anyway, be alert!
