In the light of the new bad batch episode, I think I know who my next april fools fic is gonna be about
The opposite of nostalgia.
With less than two minutes left in eighth period yesterday, I dashed in across the hall to get something off our department printer. It’s in my co-worker’s room, so I peaked through the window first to make sure I wasn’t interrupting.
I mouthed “Sorry!” to her as I picked it up anyway, but she wasn’t paying attention to me -- she had a frown on her face and one of her student’s names on her lips to come back. I looked behind me. A squirrelly senior had slipped out the door I left open barely two seconds ago. His poor judgement, but my fault.
I immediately turned and barked his name and a firm “get back here” and -- guys, this is not a joke -- he physically jumped. Said squirrelly senior was once upon a time my exceedingly squirrelly freshmen, and he physically jumped at my voice and did an immediate about-face back into my co-worker’s room.
“Oh my god,” he said, actual shock on his face. “I haven’t heard that tone since freshmen year, but man do I remember it.”
I grinned, let loose a laugh more accurately described as a cackle, and closed his classroom door behind me, safely leaving him behind on the correct side.
Work beat me up
