@oros-ash3s finally did itttt. here it is:
First myth: THE SACI PERERÊ
^classic. Perhaps the most classic of it all The story tells that the Saci is... well, the most little annoying menace to have ever existed.
He looks like a kid and has one leg, and his deal is mostly mischievous but... relatively harmless wrongdoings. VERY incovenient wrongdoings, though. Namely:
Invading your house and filling your coffee with salt
Braiding the manes of your horses together
Scaring away your horses
Bothering and atordoating travellers with an incessantly annoying noise
Burn the food on your stove
Steal your stuff
And a few more XD
His appearence is of a black boy with no hair, a red cap and matching overalls, and he always is seen smoking from his long, brown pipe. There are a few variations on the story of how he lost his leg, if at all, but some versions say that he used to be a slave and in a punishment the slave-owner cut it away. Some others tell that he lost it in a capoeira game. Who knows! What we do know is that the Saci is very fast so you can never catch him and he makes storms by moving the wind.
He also may be mischievous and love pranks, but he is technically not that bad. In some versions he can be a protector of the woods too :)
If the Saci is too much of an annoyance to you, though, you can set up a trap for him! When you see the wind storm he causes, you can throw in a special sieve on it to trap him! He'll be stuck, and then you can take off his cap (he has to obey you if you do it, although some versions say he'll only lose his powers) and then lock him away in a jar with a cross drawn on it. I mean, there are technically more than one according to some, but this will take care of this one!
Fun fact: There is a National Saci Day! We don't get time off school ;) He's pretty popular in media!
Second myth: THE CURUPIRA
The basic things about the Curupira are: He has flaming red hair, his feet are turned behind, he lives in the woods, and he'll fucking get you if you mess with them.
The Curupira's job is to protect the forest. He is frankly quite more aggressive than the Saci and he is far more vital. He basically makes fake footprints to confuse hunters and make them lose themselves in the woods and prevents people from deforesting.
Third myth: BOTO-COR-DE-ROSA
I like this one because it's particularly funny lmao. Boto-cor-de-rosa can be translated as "Pink Dolphin" and his thing is that he is a dolphin, but at night, he can turn into a beautiful, handsome man. Story tells that he appears on beaches at night with his pristine clothes and lures marries woman into sleeping with him.
It's also said that you can tell if a kid is born from the Dolphin! If there is a small hole on the top of their head, just like a dolphin's, then uh... she probably cheated on you.
Fourth myth: IARA
The Iara, or Yara, is basically a siren. She has the form of a beautiful, gorgeous woman from waist up, and below that, the body of a large fish. She sings.
Her song is said to make people fall in love with her and lure them into the water where she lives. Once she does, she drowns them for good and their remaints are left to rot into the water.
