Robot that adamantly denies that they're a robot and tries to blend in with humans. Except they're not a hyper-humanoid android, and are very obviously and undeniably, a robot. Everyone just pretends not to notice though, because they get so excited whenever they successfully "fool someone."

There’s an old, decrepit space station meant only as a stop along a trade route. However, it’s unusually populated with travelers, and some visitors even appear to be specifically traveling to go to the rundown station.

The secret? There’s an underground fight ring manned by the station’s robots, who are actually military robots in hiding

wait ok i know I already sent an idea but where do robots in your setting fall on the scale from "basically tools" to "people who just happen to be made of metal" in public perception?

that’s a good question! i’ve loosely thought about that, but this is a good opportunity for me to flesh it out a bit more. the public generally perceives robots not as people per se, but definitely as beings with their own thoughts and personalities. they’re treated similarly to people but not as people, if that makes sense. they’re decently respected but there’s a loud minority of people who hate them for stealing away their jobs and wives and whatever. (not the robots’ fault that they’re hotter and have better resumés than those people.)

consider: scary evil looking but entirely harmless robot. with a smaller robot bunny companion that can kill you to death with lasers and sharp teeth and a chainsaw. yes all of them. at the same time

Welsh rookie hacker in the future roped into working for the English government (ew) in exchange for them forgiving her criminal record

(she kind of sort of maybe accidentally took a tiny bit of a peep at their files)

her bones are not made of bones, by the way. they’re alive and for some reason have turned her into a living puppet for the villain’s nefarious purposes.

also, she has some strange new abilities, including but not limited to 1) super strength, 2) situational resistance to bullets, and 3) joints bad now

Robotics prodigy

Built her own robotic owl and deliberately programmed him to be a bit of a bastard (affectionate)

Optimistic, cheeky sense of humor

Born without either of her legs from the hip down, and as such alternates between her prosthetic legs and her wheelchair, depending on various factors (fatigue levels, pain levels, how far she’s expecting to walk that day, whether or not her prostheses are sufficiently charged, etc)

Created by a doting father with the intention of transferring the consciousness of his dying daughter into the robot

Robot eventually learns of this and is understandably kind of pissed

Immortal asshole born from the dirt (his immortal siblings wanted to put him back but their mother figure wouldn’t let them)

A bit preoccupied with his looks but somewhat justified because he’s unfairly gorgeous

Mortal enemies with Hadley since forever but they both got better (read: married)

robot "janitor" with several devices for cleaning built in, all of which can be used as concerningly powerful weapons or surveillance equipment. Their vacuum cleaner can exert way more force than needed so they can injure/immobilize people. They can and will make explosives and other useful things out of their cleaning chemicals. They've got bugged air freshener thingies and replacement bolts/screws. Trash compactor that has had more than zero people fed into it. Their broom has a gun in it like a sword cane and somehow this got past security. They're hiding sketchy shit under a cleaning cart. Sky's the limit.

i might end up making a character like this myself lmao

Never seen a James Bond movie, but if this is for blowing up some secret services or some sort of heist, a robot who can plug themselves into a security system to try and disable it. Unfortunately, they end up getting caught and their “consciousness” being put into a very small device, that ends up isolated in a room to later be dealt with, so now their group/partners have to ‘side mission’ to save them 🤔 maybe this leads to them discovering something very dark about the organization they are trying to destroy??
