Oh Anna Bot. This video brought back so many memories. Due to my shyness and lack of motivation to go out to the bars and socialize at parties, I joined IRC. I think I hopped on sometime in 2001? Picked DALnet because it had the most users in the chat room #alaska. Made a few friends and went to some parties. And goddamn we were nerds, myself VERY much included. I think most of us have grown up, some are still... y'know not so much. It did help me out though, that damn Internet Relay Chat. Without it I probably would have been REALLY alone in Alaska when my fiance died. Anymore, I can't remember where I heard of this song, but I got such a kick out of seeing that IRC screen and all the text flying by. A friend of a friend actually kept a log of the chats and sent it to my friend, he sent it to me and I still have it! I go back every few years and groan and grimace at all the crap said on there. This song has survived a few computers/hard drives... Good ol Anna Boten for when I want some old school sounding techno talking about old school IRC.
