Chapter 8: That Child of Mine
The Tide is Turning
It had been just another day at the stable when the strange towers and glowing buildings had suddenly erupted out of the ground. According to travelers passing through, several similar structures had appeared all over Hyrule, all glowing the same brilliant orange. No one had managed to get into the smaller buildings, though a few intrepid souls had managed to climb up some of the more accessible towers. They offered brilliant vantage points, but did not serve any other obvious purpose, and they were too difficult to climb to be truly practical. Rensa tried not to worry about it too much. The horses weren’t bothered by any of them, and they didn’t seem to be related to the monsters that had started harassing travellers in greater numbers over the last few months. No, he had other priorities to focus on.
A few travellers, treasure hunters, and merchants had arrived at Dueling Peaks stable that afternoon. Rensa had just finished stabling the treasure hunters horses, leaving his boys to take care of the curry-combing and feeding, when he noticed that the shrine across the bridge from the stable had turned blue. “Oy!” he called to his brother, minding the desk at the inn. “When did that happen?”
