Up first: Boulangerix and carrying on the Dupain Tradition
I saw a few ppl just labeling this episode as a filler as well as going on to attack the creators because they are “running out of akuma ideas” and so on. . .
This episode was NOT a filler (I know I’m so shocked) lol. This episode touched base on a few questions I know I myself had regarding the Dupain family background such as:
Why is Gina mostly traveling by herself? Why doesn’t she mention her “husband”
Why, even though he’s such a family man, has Tom not talked about his father?
Why haven’t the Dupain-Cheng’s not MENTIONED Rolland at all after all these years?
Well this episode gives us one answer to all of those questions:
Tom, Sabine and Gina wanted to adapt and break away from tradition while Rolland wanted to stay to his ways.
So from here it’s easy to guess Rolland cut them off completely and isolated himself from them in his home.
And it broke my heart to see how he was living with three mice filling the void that was left as he cut out the three main people in his life.
Then the episode ends with Marinette reuniting them and at least it mends my heart to know that Rolland will be more involved in their lives again.
Sometimes it’s okay to break away from tradition. That was the message here.
I got real livid when I saw threads pop up about how Rolland probably disapproved of the marriage. That’s not it.
There was other things I’d like to mention (which I’ll probably come back and just update later), but for now Oni-Chan needs my full attention.
