IT ISN’T STRANGE to hear of a newcomer in Whiterun. The city was the very center of Skyrim, a natural trading hub and quite likely the Skyrim equivalent of a miniature Cyrodiil, given its cosmopolitan natives. Man and mer alike lived and visited here, so Zinnia could not understand the buzz about the most recent newcomer. A bosmer woman, was it? What was so special about her? She was curious to know, but could unfortunately did not have the time to investigate the matter. Vilkas had her running ridiculous errands left and right, much to her frustration. This was a place for warriors, not personal servants, the dunmer woman thought bitterly.

MAYBE THE NEWCOMER will be wise enough to stay away from Jorrvaskr, given the manner in which new recruits are treated. It would save her the disappointment. 

THERE WAS NO more time to complain, though. Instead Zinnia focused her hearing on her surroundings, trying to navigate the Plain District without running into people and causing trouble.

hc + summer

the hottest of the four temperature seasons,  summer,  is his favorite.  altaïr overall prefers anything close to the cold desert clima which usually features hot and dry summers,  and tends to have cold but also dry winters where snow is rather unusual.  whereas he does not necessarily like cold temperatures,  he prefers cold and dry weather over rain and snow.

even during summer it’s very unlikely to witness him more casual about his attire.  he is used to wear several layers and does not have any tendency to sweat despite the warm clothing.

fellow assassins often believe him paler in comparison with their own complexion due to his european mother,  but it’s more likely that he may appear less sun tanned in complexion due to always wearing long robes.  he does have a naturally darker complexion due to his ethnicity despite what fellow assassins claim.

in modern verses he tends to wear sunglasses.

especially during heat waves he prefers different dishes than through the rest of the year.  he will still prefer bread made from wood fired oven but overall falls back to fruit salads or other cold dishes he can eat along with any kind of bread.

jerusalem is one of his most favorite places to be during summer.  he enjoys exploring the surrounding region as much as he enjoys the usual activities of the  HOLY CITY  during the day.  during night he often sleeps inside well hidden balconies rather than seeking refuge with the bureau.  he prefers the safety of the bureau during the day.

There are a lot of people who inspire me with their word choice and narrative and characterisation, but I want to give a shout out especially to the Tolkien crew from ye olden days aka several years ago, when I first joined tumblr rp. My grasp of language has improved in incredible ways since then, and in no small measure also thanks to their blogs and writing.

Among them a special mention goes to @brightflight / @aelwihtas / @divinitatem / all her damn blogs, because Katy is genuinely an outstanding writer and some of her turns of phrase are such that you think “damn, I wish I’d written that myself”. It’s just real mastery of language and I can for sure say I’ve learnt something from her.

unpopular opinion: solas is a furry and his fursona is a wolf

send me unpopular opinions and I’ll respond with

having read the wikifur page on fursonas, i have determined that fursona is an inaccurate concept. there seems to be some level of separation between the fursona and the person who it represents, whereas in a world where ppl can choose their form (it’s implied that shapeshifting is within the power of p much every evanuris -- i’m assuming this includes solas) that separation can’t exist. it’s not a persona, or fursona, when it’s literally you. at least, that’s the impression the wiki page gave me.

though what’s interesting to note is that when elvhenan depicts fen, it’s as a wolf (statues and mosaics, not humanoid at all) yet when solas paints himself, it’s always as a person (sometimes with a wolf present or wearing a wolf pelt). i tend to see this partially a result of the slight dysphoria the name fen’harel gives him, and how history/legend remembers him as less a person and more a wolf.

that being said, he could be a furry??? or at least perceived as one. i couldn’t see him even in a world where a furry fandom existed being all that interested in participating in it. i mostly associate the furry fandom with being interested in anthro animals, which doesn’t quite match solas’s style, but he def has furry followers in modern. and @ancientimpudence prob has furry porn in the binder of fen’harel porn they collected to make solas wrinkle his nose.
