Hello! I wanted to ask for a clarification regarding commissions! I'm sorry to be so dense, but "personal use only", I take means vs commercial use, or people slapping the art on merch and the like.
However I was wondering what that means in regards of posting/sharing it. When you finish a commission piece, do you publish it to your own blog and tag whoever commissioned it, like I've seen others do? Or do you message the art privately to that person and no one else is meant to see it?
Again, really sorry if this is an obvious question. I honestly don't know.
Basically it’s just to keep people from selling my work without having discussed it. Of course you are absolutely free to post it and use it for social media, etc.! I do not mind at all if people do whatever they’d like with their drawing, just so long as it’s not being like put into AI or things like that. I’ve had plenty of commissions for logos and such that people use for their merch, which is totally fine! Same with music videos and such, because I knew that’s what the project was and what they planned to do with said art. I guess it’s more a precaution to cover myself with my art, if anything. I’ve seen too many “stores” or sellers use artwork without permission, including my own, so just covering my bases. Idk if that helps, but yeah. 😅
