Page 1. --- Young Men Fined for Assaulting John Whelan, Employee of Booth's Mills. ---- "They threw blocks on my head and back and broke my pipe off in my mouth," swore John Whelan, an employee of Booth's Mills, who charged Hormisdas Guertin, 12 Philomon Street, Hull, and Honore Lafrance, 143 Broad Street, with assault, in the police court today.
Both accused were fined two dollars and two dollars costs.
The young men said they threw the blocks at the aged man for fun.
FINED FOR ASSAULT. Found guilty of assaulting Abraham Bodnoff, 480 St. Patrick street, Isadore Bercovitch. 97 1-2 Elgin street, was fined $2 and $2 costs in the police court to-dav.
The assault arose over the collection of a debt.
