Paper Airplanes [SEVENTEEN Short Scenario]
All of them heard the audience’s confused whispers.
Voices filled with surprise and uncertainty enveloped the whole theater when the lights dimmed right after they performed their latest single, ‘Aju Nice’, that they announced as their last song. “Has it ended already?” someone shouted in disbelief, and they assumed the owner of the voice was seated close to the stage because they were able to hear her from back stage.
With hurried movements, eleven boys changed their clothing as their make-up was retouched by their artists. Of course not, Seungcheol thought with a smile, we won’t leave that fast. His smile grew wider when he heard the audience loudly shout for an encore, especially when he heard them squeal when the special ending video was played. He looked at his team mates’ (who he would often refer to as his “sons”) expressions, and it didn’t surprise him that they wore the same one as his.
“The video is almost done, it’s time to go on stage!” one of the organizers shouted, and everyone ran to their posts while the boys ran towards the stairs. They grabbed the baskets with the signed tokens in them, and when they were told to go up, they hurriedly climbed the stairs.
Their fans squealed much louder when they saw the grinning boys sing “Healing” while tossing the tokens to the audience. Seungcheol chuckled when he saw a teary-eyed fan in the audience and threw one at her direction, hoping that she catches it. He surveys the banners their fans were holding up high with their light sticks and he couldn’t help but smile at their effort.
The song ended and they proceeded to sing ‘Love Letter’, their last song, as a way to say thank you to the fans who came to see them despite the non-stop downpour of rain in the country. They stood and sang their lines with the energy they have left. After this, we’ll say our goodbye messages as our last gift, they thought.
Little did they know, their fans prepared one last gift for them as well too.
Pastel-colored paper airplanes flew into the sea of golden confetti and towards their stage when Wonwoo, one of their members, sang his part in the song, their eyes wide and jaws open in awe. The boys cheered and playfully tried catching the paper planes coming their way, discovering the small messages on the planes’ wings in the process. Their second oldest member, Jeonghan, picked up a plane and threw it to one of the younger members while laughing which caused the crowd to laugh along with him.
“This is amazing,” Seungcheol muttered. He turned his head to his right to look at the touched faces of his members and shifted his attention to the paper planes on the ground.
With gentle eyes and a smile, he lifted his head, brought his microphone to his lips and said,
“Mahal ko kayo.”
Mahal ko kayo means I love you all (Mahal = love; ko = I, me; kayo = pronoun to address everyone the speaker is speaking to)
Yes, this was what basically happened in Shining Diamonds in Manila D1 (some parts I wrote just to fill up the story, but overall I described what I saw while watching them from afar) and I can’t stop reminiscing the things that happened. They were surprised to see the paper planes flying towards them and the whole theater looked so beautiful with the planes, confetti, light sticks, and Carats singing along to Love letter. Sadly I wasn’t able to capture a video of the project because I ran out of cellphone space ;; I will never forget that day, thank you so much to everyone for making the day perfect for everyone. Until we meet again, SEVENTEEN!
