Lorch 2: Renewal
Better rush to the Goldsea Library -- It costs ten pebbles per day overdue.
This one I feel like might be better as two separate pieces of apparel. I also recently talked myself out of buying a handmade 'book holster' on Etsy so this is me coping.

@quichelewoof (Thanks for the earlier reblog, and I'll see about making fairy wolves a thing, if not on launch then hopefully soon after)
When a Deity Doesn't Answer Your Call; My Journey With Dionysus
I am an Ominist Eclectic Pagan, with heavy influences from not only the Egyptian Parthenon but the Greco-Roman one. Among them, Dionysus has always peaked my interest. I love his wild, unsubdued energy. His duality. His unfiltered party vibes, his associations with theater, His fluid relationship with gender, etc etc etc. I love it all.
But the duality at hand? Doesn't always love me back, and for good reasons. Reasons that weren't always clear to me until recently when I've started to regain some clarity and am in the beginnings of a spiritual awakening.
Dionysus, whom I'll affectionately refer to as Dio, has STRONG associations with duality. A classic Greek one is alcoholism. The happy drunk and the angry drunk. He encompasses it all. I have personal associations with him concerning bipolar disorder and drugs, addictions, particularly cocaine.
Cocaine itself has a dual nature. It has a "party" powder form, and the darker crack cocaine. Both addictive, but one is definitely a different sort of monster. The Gods evolve with the times, and I feel as if Dionysus has come to rule over that sort of drugs, among other party ones.
I struggle with bipolar. I struggle with duality. I struggle with getting Dio to answer my call. I acted in theater during grade school, even wrote a play in senior year. I drew devotional arts. I prayed. To no avail. With Dionysus, often times acknowledging my call but skirting around it, I couldn't understand why until now. He was protecting me from his ugliest associations. Because he knew, I could quickly fall into his pitfalls.
Since, essentially getting my shit together, he has become a lot more present in my life. The almost calls make sense.
The almost getting a good part in a grade school play. The almost getting an award for my published play. The almost for buying a book with his explicit name but not having cash. Him acknowledging my artwork but refusing to bring it to life, leaving it hollow. Almost this, Almost that.
But its clear(er) to me now, Dio is not a good fit for me because of his lifestyle. Its not because I'm inherently flawed, or he's bad news, he just wouldn't guide me on the path I'm meant to follow. The divine has other plans for me, other then being wild and free. And thats okay. One opportunity isn't there for me, because there are other opportunities that will lead me on my divine path.
Dio, I love and respect you. I honor you as I honor myself, despite your fleeting nature in my life. I'm beginning to understand now why has clarity enters my life.
Peace be with you, and whoever reads this. 💜
