Black Ice is book 20 in the Scot Harvath series but my first read from Brad Thor. “Horvath works for a private unit doing government sanctioned black ops. He stumbles into a foreign intelligence op while he is recovering in Norway. He is tasked with finding out what’s going on, capturing any technology and shooting as many bad guys as he can.” The narrator does a good job with what he has but this story is meh 😐 I have never read as many cliches in any book ever. Such classics as “one in a million” and “don’t count your chickens before they hatch” and the ironic “avoid it like the plague” Why would any author do that? This book is full of them. Including female characters all being genius, super models and the henchmen being idiot thugs. There is also some disturbing torture in this book. The premise has promise 😜 but execution could be better. My little grandson picked this out based on the cover. And it does have a great cover. Thank you, Banner! I spent most of the weekend helping to take down a tree at my parents house so I didn't have much time for smoking.In fact I loaded up my Larocca Novo with Derringer yesterday and was too tired to smoke and ended up going to bed instead,but after work today I enjoyed that bowl and later on a bowl of PS Luxury navy flake in my Moonshine blackout.
