♥♥♥♥♥ Thank youuuuu asks for the smol salad and her tol norn hubby! :3
3. What is the ideal date for your commander?
To be completely honest, just anything that doesn't involve her being 'The Commander' for a few hours. Give her and Braham some peace and she'll be golden.
7. Does your commander refer roses or sunflowers?
Sunflowers!
12. If married, what was the wedding like?
Yes, Terra & Braham are married! I keep changing my mind on 'when', exactly, it happened, but I'm honestly thinking sometime mid Icebrood - a quick little exchange of vows, just to make sure, in case anything happened. Sometime after Whisper and reuniting with Aurene, in the Eye of the North.
Very private and small, not a lot of people there - and then they had a bigger party and 'vows' once Icebrood was over, as a sort of celebration.
13. What did your commander wear to their wedding?
Terra wore some variety of the below! Though I imagine she had some furs and Norn-esque items to go with it. She just wanted - and deserved dammit - a big poofy dress by that point. Lovely art by @vectober ♥
November prompt from @tyrias-library , Caught in a Storm.
Braham/Sylvari Commander, fits into... eventual Tangled Paths world woops.
The storm hits unexpectedly, catching them out in the open of the Northern Shiverpeaks.
They press quickly forwards, heading for the Homestead they’d spotted in the distance just before the snow had swept in - an easy choice with the waypoint a solid 30 minutes behind them.
Braham shoves the door open and lets Terra go first, the Sylvari doing her best not to shiver as she steps gratefully into the warmth of the space, rubbing her hands up and down her nearly bare arms.
Had to get caught in a snow storm before I got warmer clothes, it figures…
Braham’s talking to the owners while she tries to regain some warmth, glancing around the room - his hand on her shoulder making her jump in surprise a moment later.
He frowns - probably feeling how icy her skin is - then jerks his head behind him. “C’mon, they’ve got a room we can borrow for the night. We’re not the first people to get stuck in a storm out here, by the sounds of it.”
“H-hopefully there’s a f-fireplace?” she can’t quite stop her teeth from chattering, earning another frown from her companion.
“Yeah. C’mon, we gotta get you warmed up, Ter.”
Terra follows eagerly, giving the owners a grateful nod as they pass - stepping into the specified room and feeling an immediate difference in temperature, sighing in relief.
“B-better…”
“You’re still shivering.” Braham stares for a moment, scowling, then turns to shrug out of his coat, draping it over a small table, “I’ll get the fire going. You get out of that armor - you’re soaked.”
“Yeah, w-well, not like we p-planned to be caught by a s-storm.” Terra doesn’t hesitate once his backs turned; stripping off portions of her armored dress and dropping them onto the table beside his coat, “T-Tempest armor isn’t exactly meant for c-cold weather.”
Braham grunts from where he’s kneeling, prodding at the low-burning flame, “Kas had better hurry up with that new set for you; gonna need to be warm before we head deeper into the North.”
“Tell me about it…” Terra grumbles, feeling the tiniest bit better once she’s out of the cold metal. She’s about to reach for her pack and the nightshirt she’s stashed inside when his coat catches her eye again, making her pause. She knows the material’s soft from when she’s been pressed against Braham’s side, and it looks warm…
Decision made, she reaches for it, grinning a little. Surely I’m allowed to be silly once in a while?
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
“Kas had better hurry up with that new set for you; gonna need to be warm before we head deeper into the North.” Braham jabs at the fire, willing it to spark. C’mon, flare already - she’s freezing, gotta get her warmed up.
“Tell me about it…” he hears Terra grumble, the clatter of metallic armor against wood telling him she’s doing as told and getting out of her wet dress.
Tempted as he is to sneak a peek, he keeps his eyes on his task, listening as the Sylvari shuffles around behind him.
You’re allowed to look. You’re together. That little voice whispers - the one that speaks up sometimes, when they’re alone like this - but he shoves it away and keeps working, making a noise of triumph when the fire finally ignites into a full, proper blaze.
“There, got it!” Braham stands, brushing his hands off on his pants and grinning triumphantly as he turns around, “Should start warming up now-”
“Good job, Braham.” Terra smiles appreciatively, shifting so her legs are tucked beneath her on the bed, “I feel warmer already.”
Braham doesn’t respond. His brain’s frozen by the image before him - Terra sitting on the plush bed they’d been provided, wearing his coat.
Just the coat. His gaze lingers on the bare expanse of her chest - Soul Mark clearly visible and pulsing faintly blue atop her breast - then slides down the length of her bare legs before flicking back up to her eyes, swallowing thickly. Spirits, she’s…
This part of their relationship is still new. They’d been friends for ages, before his grief had gotten the better of him - and then reconciled, and become something more - become what their Marks intended. But they haven’t… explored this aspect, much. Haven’t really flirted, or teased.
So he finds himself at first off-kilter, staring at the vision that is his Soul Mate from across the room, heart hammering even as his blood seems to catch fire.
His coat is huge on her - he’s a good 2 feet taller than her, so it’s no surprise - but where it might have looked goofy, should have looked comical, it’s instead ridiculously alluring to see her draped in his clothing.
Terra’s holding it closed, but the fur is acting as a sort of low neckline, just concealing her breasts but none of her chest, and her legs are left completely bare, sleeves billowing out around her slim wrists.
But it’s really her expression - open and teasing, warm and inviting and wanting - that has him finally moving, a slow smirk of his own spreading across his lips.
“Terra…” he growls, knowing from previous encounters that putting the rougher edge on his tone gives her shivers, “What are you doing?”
“I was cold.” she shrugs a shoulder, the action far more seductive than usual given her current state of dress, “And your coat looked so warm… couldn’t resist.”
“I’m going to need that back, you know.”
“Nope.” Terra grins sweetly up at him once he’s made it across the room, head tilted back to meet his gaze, “Your coat is mine now, Braham. Sorry. Finders keepers, and all that.” She takes a second to lift the fur collar to her nose, purposely keeping eye contact as she inhales deeply, “It’s just so cozy… and it smells like you.”
That earns another growl, this one a low rumble, as he bends so his hands are on the bed to cage her in, face kept several inches away, “What if I had another way to keep you warm?”
The Sylvari’s cheeks flush - he’s proud of himself for noticing, when once he wouldn’t have seen the subtle shift - and her eyes narrow slightly, tongue flicking out to wet her lips. “I could maybe be persuaded, then. But.”
“But?” Braham echoes, ever closer now - and it’s taking every ounce of self control he has left not to just sweep her up and do as he pleases, with her half-naked and so close.
“Prove it.” Terra whispers, giving him permission.
Braham doesn’t respond; only leans forward to kiss her, deeply, feeling lithe arms wrap tightly around his neck as she sighs against his mouth.
And suddenly he doesn’t mind getting caught in the storm, anymore.
So clearly, this prompt worked out too well with the sketch above - done as part of the awesome @vectobers monthly Patreon streams! - and I had to make it fluffy and self-indulgent as hell.
Almost went into the smutty territory... but I haven’t actually written that for these dorks, yet, so I’d rather keep that for when I hit it in TP. Y’know. Eventually. Cough.
So have some stuck-in-a-storm fluff ♥ The prompt helped me write some cute stuff and I’m happy.
