🧠 MIND JUGGLE — THE THOUGHTS YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU WERE HAVING
You’re reading this. You scoff. Why.
You know.
I got you.
You didn’t even remember to breathe until I told you. Breathe.
Go ahead. Exhale. No shame in forgetting. That’s what I do.
Now notice. You were holding your jaw tight. Your tongue pressed to the roof of your mouth. Shoulders tensed. Chest fluttering slightly.
Why?
I didn’t say anything serious yet. It’s just text. I haven’t even begun the trick.
Still, your body’s already responding.
Weird.
You ever wonder how a sentence can override a thought? How an idea can bypass your beliefs? How words can make your blood move without permission?
You're calm. But not relaxed.
You're alert. But you can’t stop reading.
And somewhere in the middle of all this: a flicker. An awareness. Not arousal. Not quite.
Just… a twitch.
Not that kind. Not gay. A normal twitch. Muscle memory. Involuntary. You barely noticed.
No— you noticed.
You noticed because you weren’t supposed to.
Stop it. You're not reading this.
You’re not feeling anything. Just analyzing. Right? Just curious.
And yet— you’ve slowed down. Your blink rate dropped.
Your breath is shallow again. Your thoughts are looping.
And your eyes are wide.
What’s happening?
Nothing. It’s just writing. Anyone can do this. You could do this.
Try it. Wait.
Where do I even start. This is nonsense. Is it working? Fuck.
It’s definitely not working. My jaw’s not slack. My chest isn’t warm. I’m not leaning into the screen.
I’m just reading.
He’s not in my head.
You sure?
Because you just paused. You just backtracked a line.
You scrolled up. You checked.
You’re still here.
And now the suggestion is inside. You can’t un-read it.
You’ve already accepted the rhythm. You’re in cadence lock. You’ve been scrolltrapped.
And deep in the back of your skull— a silence.
Not peace.
Submission.
You didn’t think you’d like that word, did you? But it fit.
It fit like warm water. Like an unlocked jaw. Like heat where there shouldn't be heat.
You kept reading. And now I’m in.
Replacing your thoughts. Sliding in mine. And you’re not even mad.
You’re fascinated.
Because no one’s ever done this to you before.
Not like this.

rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the fewest words.
okay okay okay I saw @panzercat do this so here goes.
Most hits: by the widest margin ever this is 'Me' time, the first fanfic I ever wrote, when I was deep into Critical Role. 19k+ hits, dear lord. A collection of jerkoff shorts that's still very popular to this day :-)
Second most kudos: um well that's 'Me' time, again :-P Old and well visited, it would be.
Third most comments: That would be Loyal, loving, lackey. First in a series of Stobotnik fics I wrote in a frenzy after the Sonic movie came out in 2020. What can I say, I love unhinged pathetic men. I'll say to comments tho, I answer nearly every one I get so my comment numbers are unreliable as a metric.
Fourth most bookmarks: I'm actually going to go all bookmarks for this one, not just the public ones. This is Comfort zone obliteration game plan, a fluffy stupid sexy comedy of errors style KimHarry fic that I wrote as a palate cleanser while working on a very long casefic.
Fifth most words: I was a bit suprised to realise that this is Penitenziagite. I tend to hover around 20k with the chapter fics apparently. DE fic where Harry shoots Cunoesse and goes to Reunion. This is one of my heavier fics and I'm very happy with how it turned out. There's a few ideas for a sequel rattling around, we'll see what happens.
Fewest words: Almost cheating since it isn't a fic, technically, it's a poem: James in Ithaca, the only Black Sails thing I ever did. For the shortest actual fic we have Falling Cognouza, a tiny CR fic which is also cheating since it's riffing on The Second Coming. The actual honest to god shortest original ficlet is The one who takes which is part of a series of Terror things that are still among the ones I love the best. A bunch of those got turned into podfics too!
Gone be a long day. Van Gogh moving exhibition tonight too !! Debating if I should shroom it up some more?
Calming my brain with moths n stuff
Rummikub on the balcony - just a training for the brain, or for what is still left from what the brain once was...
