Ive been re¹⁰-reading some are wild/quickshot, and it finally hit me. This omegaverse is extrememly cat-shaped. It's such a fresh take on it that it took me a while to notice that it's not a wolf/dog framing, but damn.
They are so feline coded (the purring, the clawing, the way their territoriality shows).
It has no business having this much of a chokehold on me when im not a cat person by long miles lmao

i've seen a fair few fics now where alphas purr so i guess my brain no longer goes "purring = cat thing." i also added the claws bc i needed another way to disrupt the soft sweet omega trope thing. all of this culminated in me not once thinking "ok i'm doing it cat-style." BUT YOURE SO RIGHT LMAO.
we are a cat only household so this is probably why it all just kind of fell into that for me lmfao. it's so...fucking obvious in hindsight that that's what i was doing. holy shit. how did i not notice.
even in "quickshot" you can see a mild amount of confusion bc i have Wilson doing the Dog Thing of pacing a circle before settling down. even this, however, can be observed in cats, too. god, i catcoded my dogboys. HOW DID I NOT NOTICE!! I WROTE THE DAMN THING!!!
