Something about how Let Them Eat Cake and Runaways show that guilt is a burden that both Thirteen and Adams have carried for years if not decades, and that recognizing said guilt is integral to understanding them. I need to lie down

Dabb era forever, it may have made the biggest fumble in NFL history at the end but they gave Castiel A SON. Did everyone see that? They gave him A SON. Castiel had A BABY BOY.
ok so i'd never heard of our word or 36 questions but i looked up the song after reading the tags on that post and OMG YOU TWO ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT SONG AND ADAMS I HAVE CHILLSSSSSSSSSSS
OUR WORD IS SO GOOD. AND IT WORKS WITH SOOOO MANY BLORBOS!!! God Our Word + Adams drives me insane. The rest of the musical is pretty different from Our Word (but still enjoyable!! and really good!!) but oh my god. Our Word. Our Word. It's on my Thirteen playlist and Bird's Adams playlist for many reasons and it destrooooyssss me. I'm glad you liked the song!!! :D
I don't want to say a ton about Adams + Our Word right this second only because I know Bird can say it better and with more detail if she wants to share :3 @x-birdsong-x (she's SO, SO good at analyzing Adams, it blows me away). But since I'm a Thirteen analyst and because Bird and I usually analyze Thirteen and Adams in tandem/parallel to each other and it's a song we match to them both, I will say that the last chorus especially is not only SO Adams and her parents ("Our daughter Judith? You must be mistaken. You mean the girl we raised as if our own? We loved her so much, she felt like our child. But eventually we had to send her home." I am killing Adams' parents with hammers), but it's has some of the most Thirteen lyrics ever to me. It so perfectly describes her relationship with John (her dad), based both on what we get in canon (Let Them Eat Cake, Lockdown) and on my headcanons.
"I saw my parents hearing the news: your only daughter drowned today. I thought about what they might say: 'Our daughter Judith? No, she moved to Austin. She's very happy there, or so we hear. She's always been so goddamn independent; the years go by and now we barely see her.'"
a few word swaps and you end up with:
"I saw my father hearing the news: your only daughter drowned today. I thought about what he might say. 'My daughter, Remy? No, she moved to Princeton. She's very happy there, or so I hear. She's always been so goddamn independent- the years go by, and now I barely see her.'"(<- fits perfectly with her 'it's better if I stay elsewhere' from Lockdown)
Thirteen and her dad's relationship genuinely makes me insane and Our Word makes me insane and. Thank you for the ask Em (<3) and I'm so glad you listened to the song and can see it with Adams!!

All those posts when The Winchesters teaser first dropped that were clowning on Dean like "the man is writing fanfic of his parents to cope" only it turns out he's. Actually kind of rewriting their story. The narrative of Dean plotting to change their history vs the meta-narrative of Jensen plotting to change their history. Hello. Is this thing on.
The "he's not of this Earth" line from John re: Dean. Mr Ackles are you saying what I think you're saying here. I had been operating under the assumption that the Dean running around was from the alleged six months between the defeat of God and the vampire juggalo incident, because I guess a part of me was assuming they wouldn't or couldn't screw around with existing canon too much. Which, now that I think about it for more than five seconds, is a really stupid assumption considering the entire premise of the show was rewriting John and Mary's story from the jump.
All this to say. Jackles really pulled Dean's ass right out of heaven huh. Sir you are so unwell and also I'd like to shake your hand.
