Even the sun here is strange; dimmer and duller and the warm light is heavy on his wings. Couri stares at it and feels a lump in his throat. He blinks and tears his gaze away from the sky, so distant and unreachable. 

“Did it help?” Feinberg says gruffly when Couri steps back inside. His visor is flipped up, and Couri meets his bright, polished eyes; his vision blurs slightly as he adjusts to the dim interior. He squeezes his eyes shut, Fein’s irises burning pink and blue circles into the insides of his eyelids.

“No,” Couri admits. “I can’t believe it’s gone.”

Feinberg shrugs. “I can’t imagine I know what it feels like. Barely anyone groundside knew or cared about the Aether. But still.” His strange eyes swivel and look past Couri, at the sliver of sunlight visible through the mouth of the cave. “Sorry that it happened. And I’m sorry about your kingdom.”

“It’s fine. Not your fault.” Couri’s voice is distant. He folds his useless wings and opens his eyes. “Back to the nether?”

“Yeah. Let's go,” Fein says with a jerk of his head. He steps into the portal, and Couri stands by him. The purple miasma whispers and and murmurs as it brings him back to the land with no sky.

heres all my mixed emotions from the first two episodes of the new season of the owl house, written as i scream in my room right now. i said i was gonna wait but i really cant, so spoilers are under the cut

- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA - OK, first up, eda and luz being really good family is jsut kdfjsj. i love that eda puts luz’s needs before her own, and wants to make sure she’s ok -vice versa, even though its really sad luz feels like a burden it also shows how much eda means to her, and i just hahsldfj - don’t know why im so emotionally lately but both luz telling eda she doesn’t want to be a burden and then doing a anime as shit backwards fall made me laugh so hard i cried. conversally, eda’s speech about all the good luz has done for her made me cry so hard i laughed - i loved the big seal monster, seals are one of my top three animals and she was beautiful. fuck belos for trying to kill her - i do not like the golden guard, he was really cocky in an annoying way. would punch this child - also wasn’t a bug fan of king in either episode tbh. he didn’t have enough going on. i really hope that the later episodes have more for him to work with - lilith and hootys friendship will live forever on in my heart. i love it, amity is gonna freak when she finds out her former teacher she was not on good terms with is now best friends with the owl she hates -luz teaching eda and lilith is really cute, and lillith being a teachers pet is very on point - the whole blight family being industry tycoons is not something i expected but i welcome it whole heartedly. i love the twins being shits and aldor just kinda being there - odalia is as nasty as i thought she would be and i love it. go girl, you suck. and i love that aldor is literally the opposite of what people thought, definetly a dilf - WILLOW AND GUS my loves. love gus’s growth spurt, i did not expect the voice change at all but i kinda love it. also, seeing willows dads being extremely supportive, and that willow has a ‘fun dad’ that lets her sneakout is *chef kiss* - luz needs to stop blaming herself for everything, poor kid gets hurt multiple times in just these two episodes - bump really reluctantly turning the trio away from school and crying the whole time. HE CARES, HE HAS A SCRAP BOOK, BUMP DESERVES MORE LOVE - LUZ FINALLY FEELING SOMETHING OTHER THAN FRIENDSHIP FOR AMITY. my gosh, i am a sucker for crushes of any kind, and while i wouldn’t say that luz has a crush just yet, she definelty felt somthing with thatr blush. cackling over the fact that amity called her ‘my luz’, and that scene where they both look at each other and blush. dfnksjfj i can’t express my emotions, i am a sucker for romance/akward crushes and seeing this made me go feral

i have more thoughts but this is already too long. my fire for toh has been relit, and i am working on iwbacb as we speak. i am cringe and i am free, although i will look back on this later and be pounded by second hand emberassment
