My aesthetic: the lighting only achievable when stopped behind another stopped car. I call it “brake light rouge”

Finished up my 98 LGT 3rd brake mod! It took some effort but I'm pleased with the outcome.

I used this strobe controller spiced only to the left and right bulbs.

Made some block off/reflector panels with aluminum ducting tape and some ABS plastic.

Cut hearts out of black vinyl to mask off the light. I could've painted but this is reversible and light might have shown though paint.

Test with a flashlight as an example.

I'll get a clip of the light functioning soon. The hearts strobe 4 times, flash 4 times then stay solid, while the center 2 bulbs are solid the whole time. We will see if I get pulled over for this mod but I'm hoping that the solid center light plus the other lights going solid after strobing will prevent me from being ticketed. If I do get a ticket, I can just change it back.
