I saw that you posted a prompt about Brandon reacting to Stella crying a while ago and I was wondering if you could do the same with Stella reacting to him crying or being sick and taking care of him.

It's totally fine if you don't feel like it, I just wanted to ask because I absolutely love your headcanons/one shots/prompts! 🥰

“Thought I might find you here,” Stella said softly as she slipped into the dark hangar bay of the Red Fountain ship.

Brandon sniffed a little and swiped his wrist over his nose before ducking his head so he didn’t have to meet her gaze.

“I'm fine,” he said thickly.

Stella didn’t point out that she hadn’t asked and simply sat beside him, debating whether to take his hand or not.  She was still debating when Brandon shifted away a little and crossed his arms over his chest.  Stella bit her lip, point taken, but didn’t leave.

“It’ll be okay, you know,” she tried instead.

“My little sister’s in the hospital and I’m half a dimension away flying in the opposite direction because some asshole wants to take over the universe.  Nothing’s okay.”

“Then let’s go,” Stella said fiercely, not knowing what else to say.  “The others can deal with all this, let’s go right now if that’s what you need.”

“You really mean that, huh?” Brandon said, looking at her for the first time, and Stella’s heart cracked at the sight of his wet cheeks.  “You’d really drop all of this to come home with me.”

“Yeah,” Stella whispered, tugging his hand free so she could hold it tightly.  “I would.  I would do whatever it took to make you feel better.”  She bowed her head and pressed a kiss to the back of his hand.  “Do you want to go?” she asked when she straightened up, staring deep into his eyes.

“No,” he sighed, leaning back against the hangar wall.  “I know my sister, she would just get mad that I abandoned my team just so I could visit her.  Especially when I know she’s going to be alright.”

But the image of her, so small and lying in a bed with healers leaning over her, proved to be too much and, despite his words, Stella felt a sob shudder through him.  Fresh tears appeared soon after and Stella scooted closer, slipping an arm around his shoulders and shifting him so his head was tucked into the curve of her shoulder.

“Hey,” she whispered into his hair as she felt him try to hold back the sobs.  “It’s okay, let it all out.  I’m here, I’m not going anywhere.”

Stella was ready for the cameras when she stepped out of the limousine and onto the red carpet but somehow they still surprised her a little nonetheless.

“Princess Stella! Princess Stella, over here!”

“Give us a smile, Princess!”

“Who are you wearing, Princess Stella?”

Usually Stella found the spotlight exhilarating and glamorous as she would preen and pose and feed that small part of her that thrived on the attention she’d always felt deprived off as a child. But tonight the lights felt just a little too bright, the noise just a little too loud, and for one, strange moment, she was struck by the unfamiliar feeling of wanting to turn around and go right back home again so she could curl up in her comfiest clothes.

Ahead, she could see Bloom and Sky, who had exited the limo ahead of her, enduring the same oppressive attention. But although Stella knew the depths to which Bloom hated this kind of thing, her friend looked totally at ease, throwing her head back with a beautiful smile as she laughed at something Sky said to her.

Before she could slip deeper into her bleak mood, Brandon stepped out of the limo behind her and slid a hand around her waist. Immediately the lights and the noise and the people and even her odd mood seemed to fade away and there were just the two of them as Brandon leaned in to murmur in her ear.

“Doing alright, sunshine?”

Stella felt the tension drain away and she leaned into his touch. Somehow Brandon always seemed to know just when he needed to lift her up, just when she needed his reassurance, just when his touch alone could comfort her.

“Of course,” she whispered back, a smile finally appearing on her face. “I have you, don’t I?”

“Always, princess,” he said.

The cameras were still flashing, people were still shouting at her, everyone still wanted her to look this way, smile like this, answer this question, but in the right way, always the right way. And that would continue for hours yet. But she knew with Brandon by her side she would be able to withstand it and he would still be there to cuddle on the couch later.

“Princess Stella, Brandon, over here!”

Feeling happier, Stella gave the photographer crying out for her attention, a dazzling smile right as Brandon leaned in to press his lips to her cheek in a picture perfect moment that she knew would be splashed across the front page of a dozen gossip magazines the next day.
