“ I can still see fine,” she said with a pained grunt. That in itself was a good sign but the fact that a headache and was already starting to feel nauseous was not good. “ I think I have a concussion and I should probably see a doctor,” she said as a matter of fact while trying to will herself to get back on her feet. “ But I think I need help,” she added a moment later.

“ Do you have holiday plans for break?” Gwen asked curiously as she glanced over his work. It was their last tutoring session until the new year. As demanding of a tutor as she was she knew that they could also use the holiday break to recharge. “ I bet it’ll be really nice to be school work free right?” Not that she would actually know.

Gwen had suspected that something was up with Billy and the new superhero Shazam. They had a lot of the same mannerisms and they had shown up at the same time, but the fact that the hero had called her by her name despite her not giving it to him was the biggest red flag. It was part of what had led her to figure out that Peter was Spiderman when he had done the same exact thing so she felt that her snooping and following of the younger kid was a bit justified. She just wanted to see if they knew each other. She hadn’t expected to find out that Bill was Shazam.
“ I knew something was up! Why didn’t you tell me after I told you that I knew Spiderman?” she asked the man, well really the boy.

“ So I know you saw me talking to Spider-Man in that alley by the school but that was a total fluke. He was saving me from an air conditioner falling out of a window. I totally don’t know him.” Nobody had ever said Gwen was good at lying, especially not right on the spot.
