These tasty bratwursts are made with beer, which will make your grilling skills better. The beer marinade makes the food taste better and helps the char look great without turning brown. Just right for a summer BBQ!
Ingredients: 4 bratwurst sausages. 1 bottle of beer preferably a lager. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1/4 cup Dijon mustard. 2 tablespoons olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hot dog buns. Optional toppings: sauerkraut, pickles, shredded cheese.
Instructions: Warm up the grill over medium-high heat. Put the Dijon mustard and olive oil in a small bowl and mix them together. Put away. Put the beer and sliced onions in a shallow dish. Prick each bratwurst several times with a fork to keep them from popping while they're cooking. Fill the bratwursts all the way to the bottom of the pan with the beer and onion mixture. Allow them to sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Once the grill is hot, take the bratwursts out of the marinade and put them on it. Throw away the marinade. Turn the bratwursts over every so often for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are cooked all the way through and have a nice char on the outside. Add the hot dog buns to the grill and toast them for a few minutes in the last few minutes of cooking. Take the buns and bratwursts off the grill. Put some of the Dijon mustard and olive oil on the inside of each bun. Put a grilled bratwurst in each bun and then add your favorite foods on top of them. Serve right away and enjoy!
