the most delusional people ever are the ones who still think bravely third is going to happen
wish list for bravely third
ringabel's interdimensional space cop buddies r a main driver of the plot but crystalism drama is obviously still a must so I'm thinking that the space cops should be accused of blasphemy or something
it's a true sequel to bravely second and takes place in the same setting, but several different space cop npcs make reference to the events of bravely default 2 in a grumbley "UGH one of the timelines is in peril again, gotta go deal with THAT now 🙄🙄🙄" kind of way
Seth also makes an appearance but he literally doesn't matter he's just in a funny side quest. he still has amnesia
instead of a fairy doing the bidding of an eldritch space monster, an eldritch space monster is doing the bidding of a fairy this time. the fairy is the final boss and the monster is like her dog
we get one singular other job with a gun proficiency called pilot or space explorer or something, the original job holder is a boldfaced ripoff of captain kirk. later in the game he and Aimee are in a side quest together
more space stuff in general. I want the vibe to be something like cowboys vs aliens. like luxendark is still this very early victorian fantasy steampunk setting but now there r guys running around in space suits with plasma guns. bravely second kinda did this but it was far too aesthetically cohesive for me, I want the futuristic space cop characters and the old timey main cast to be wildly and hilariously clashing
the main party is Agnes, ringabel, and magnolia, bc I think they'd be funny together, plus a new player stand in character who REALLY doesn't want to be here. he's SO mad about having to be part of the plot and he specifically hates you, the player, for ruining his life. he's also the edgelord bitch to even out the earnest clownery of other three.
Agnes doesn't want to be here either but she was guilted into leaving tiz behind on the farm bc she was never technically able to step down as pope due to the usual crystalism drama
ringabel and alternis dim get another lookalike bit but this time alternis is in on it and they trick someone into thinking that ringabel can be in two places at once
edea should be the templar asterick holder. I think she'd be a really fun boss fight. also she should be able to yell at ringabel for not having the balls to break up with her face to face
the mephilia side quest focuses entirely on explaining why the summons are Like That
this games blue mage/beast tamer job is just an alien who absorbs the monsters they defeat. the asterick boss looks like a huge monster and can't speak to you but once you defeat them and take the asterisk it turns out they're just a normal person. it is possible that the asterick is actually an alien pretending to be one so it can get a host body but honestly no one has time to investigate it
Bravely Third theories I had immediately after first finishing Bravely Second
Sylvie is extremely suspicious. She's either protagonist or villain.
Egil keeps coming back and is in training to be a knight. He's around the same age as Sylvie so perhaps they'll be protagonists together.
The Bravely Second team were half old, half new. If this continues again, Yew and Magnolia would continue to be protagonists alongside two new ones (Egil and Sylvie?).
Sage Yulyana is in space. Whatever's going on with Ringabel and the Planeswardens is in space. Magnolia's home is up to something in space... We're going to space.
Can't believe Magnolia sent her spaceship back to the moon without her. Now she's stranded on earth and she's going to regret it when they need to find a way into space.
Space seems to be the way between different worlds/realms. Altair came to Luxendarc from the Celestial Realm via space. It isn't just regular starry sky either. Space turned up in the path through the great chasm and inside the mountain of Musa (sealing chamber) ((which I strongly believe to be the same place in different times)) - stars turn up wherever the boundaries are weakest, not just where we're used to them.
Denys isn't dead yet. He speaks during the final boss fight. The screen cracks again before showing him which implies a different realm. He went to space with the space-time compass to fight Diamanté, but do you really think the moon people/planeswardens are just going to leave the compass? Or maybe they'll recruit Denys and confiscate the compass for whatever they're doing with the demon sword...
Sage Yulyana was specifically mentioned repeatedly in Bravely Second, but never seen. Edea and Tiz never explained who he is to Yew and Magnolia (even when they specifically asked what this mysterious sage might be like - Edea and Tiz going along with "yeah,,, I wonder....." and making the others confused). Which means it's likely Yew and Magnolia will encounter him in the next game and not know who he is.
This was based on absolutely nothing, but I figured it was about time there was a good fairy in this series... and for no particular reason, I decided she would have bright blue wings with black edges as well as pastel blue gloves with a gradient to black at the hands as well as star-like specks........ Please understand how Shocked I was when Bravely Default II did exactly that.
The two little girls who found shiny crystals (when time broke) are the new vestals of earth and fire (one was in Eternia/Gathelatio, the other was in Eisenberg/the old fishing house). Sylvie chose them (the crystals were discovered floating to shore in the ocean and she has scary prophecy powers). Potentially the crystals were like Agnès' pendant? (wasn't it the core of the earth crystal or something? from which the earth crystal could grow back?)
Edea is in trouble according to Sylvie... I bet it has something to do with what Ringabel's up to. But Edea has to... become a villain...? Something about tell her friends what she's up too, then make herself a villain, then she'll be okay again when Grandship takes to the skies once more??? Someone's in danger so Edea and Ringabel do not so good things until the danger is gone and they can help make things right again???
Ringabel wrote in the journal a line about Alternis Dim having concealed his identity in order to serve Braev.... which would be why he never took his helmet off. Now that Ringabel's face has been revealed, the people he was hiding from have found him. The people of the moon. Possibly a reason he's in trouble and Edea is forced to become a villain??
Magnolia knows whatever it is Ringabel is up to with the demon sword / Sword of the Brave. Which the moon is behind. I don't like that... (I still can't get over the fact she was the one forcing Ringabel not to tell anyone what he's been doing).
Something about the fallen angel Yulyana spoke of or the Agnès who encouraged everyone to keep going after being defeated. Agnès going through time. (I know they could easily be Agnès from other worlds, but see my next point).
In the Bravely Second demo, Magnolia was there and she already had the flower in her hair (which she gave Yew) and she sure seemed to know who Yew was (and was confident enough to flirt with him- which she wasn't when they first met in the game)... And then the moon was connected with the SP hourglass and time itself PLUS they know about the spacetime compass.... I think Magnolia (or the whole team) is going to travel through time? As I said earlier, the moon people are going to recover the space-time compass and Magnolia is in on whatever their secret mission is......... Incidentally, the demo mission she hijacked involved anomalies. I don't quite remember... but there was something Yew, Janne, and Nikolai were sent (by Agnès) to investigate.... The most important part, however, was that Yew and the others all had her erased from their memories when she left. Yew lent her his handkerchief and she left him her flower. Yet when the main game started, Yew still had his handkerchief (which was specifically brought up right at the start -and I'm certain it was to bring attention to the demo).
‘there may even be something for bravely but we can't say anything yet’
shut up I’m (puts my head in my hands)
patiently waits for e3 bravely third announcement
No more doubt.
BEST GIRL DOODLE BECAUSE I REEEEAAAALLY HOPE FOR A BRAVELY THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW
Bravely Third antagonist thoughts
First of all: no. I've legit no idea what the Bravely Third antagonists would be like, what their motivations would be, etc. But I do have a nice idea of what I would like as for a dynamic.
This is a thought I shared to a friend long ago, but want to elaborate on: the idea of a constant enemy party instead of battling The Asterisk Holder Of The Week™.
Hear me out.
We've known some of this Asterisk Holders for two games, or one at the very least. I like their characters, don't get me wrong, but I would like something different to be done, and that's when this idea occurred to me: an enemy party, going around stealing asterisks.
This would create both an interesting dynamic between your own party (whoever they may be) and the new party, aside from creating different creative encounters throughout the whole game.
Imagine, your first area in the game and, say, you run into Janne and Nikolai, whose asterisks have been stolen. You come to head the the evil party, and a battle ensues, maybe with only two members, who are utilizing the Fencer and Bishop asterisk. You battle them and upon victory, you acquire both Asterisks for your use in a sort of Final Fantasy III way where you get more than one job at once.
Every time you battle them, you get a new set of 2 to 4 new asterisks to deck out your party, and them having less numerous encounters leaves space to make them more dynamic and fun. You could have different combinations and, even, ala Ringabel from Yoko's sidequest in Bravely Second, you could have the asterisk members helping you out throughout.
Just imagine it, Minette occasionally sending out a beast to attack, Holly letting out a wave of healing, Aimee imbuing your weapons with an element or Angelo giving one of the bad guys a weakness.
It could create a more dynamic battle system *and* give more of a spotlight on the many Asterisk holders that would probably be unable to join your party otherwise (bc I will probably never see my Three Cavaliers+Magnolia dream come to fruition again after Janne and Nikolai turned out to be holders). At this point, you've probably exhausted all excuses to rerun the same battles, to fight the same people you've already battled before. It felt pretty hamstrung in B2 and I feel this could fix it.
You'd also get more time to develop your adversaries; this pseudo enemy party that's chasing you around and trying to get a hold of as many Asterisks as they can. Their motivations, backstories, personalities? No fcken clue. But I would definitely care to kick their collective ass more than I would for the same old guys.
This, of course, doesn't have to apply to any new Asterisk Holders. They can have their standard battle against the party, give THEM their own spotlight. This is more so we can do something new with the old guys, instead of just recycling.
Probably won't happen but I can dream, no?
