Job combos pretty please?? I'm stressing over the best for each character and which paths I should take for them (´Д` )
So glad you asked, because this is something I feel I'm very good at. First make sure you understand how the stats differ between the characters. Please keep in mind while reading this that I had everyone with level 14 on every job, and I don't have the game on me so I can't really tell you exactly which ability comes from where, but I remember quite a bit. So here goes nothing:
Everyone has similar stats when they are freelancers, but you can see clearly which character is better at what. Tiz is pretty overall; his stats are pretty much the same. Agnes has better Intelligence and Mind, so a mage is where you want her at. Ringabel has the best Agility, so he will be faster than others in the faster classes. Edea has the best Strength, so she makes for a good Knight/Templar.
Keeping all of these in mind, I'll just tell you my End-game party. Tiz could play a variety of roles at the end. The one I had him using was Monk/Freelancer. This combo allows him to use Pressure Point, which in my case dealt 9999 every time he attacked. The reason for Freelancer was so that he could use Mimic, allowing him to use Pressure Point 4 times in one turn. His abilities were P. Atk 30%, Rise From Dead, and I think P. Def 10%. That way I didn't have to worry about Agnes spending too much time bringing people back to life.
Agnes was the ultimate White Mage. She was the Spiritmaster/White Mage, making her healing (and Holy) cost less MP. Her abilities were Holy One and either Epic Group Cast so she could use a lower level healing on everyone, or Conservation of Life so that if she died the others would come back to life. Spirit Master and White Mage really do work hand-in-hand, and combos aren't really a thing for this class. What I did was mainly Enigma so that we were invincible to elemental magic all the time.
Ringabel was a Dark Knight/Vampire and he KICKS ASS. He uses the dark knight abilities to drain his health, and then use Blood Thirst and he would get it all back. This or Monk/Vampire so that he could use Phoenix Flight and then blood thirst. His abilities were Drain Attack plus (makes Blood Thirst stronger), Rise from Dead, Absorb P. Damage, and P. Atk 20%. Really nothing else to say. He was quicker as a dark knight than anyone else, so he was just amazing.
Edea was Templar/SwordMaster or Templar/Freelancer, depending on whether or not I wanted to use the Templar's BP skills or their MP skills. I usually used the Freelancer as my secondary so that she could use Heart Strike consecutively. She could also use Rampart, which helped against MANY bosses. Her skills were BP Limit up, Hasten World, and P. Def 20%. Hasten world is awesome because you can default a lot, and the enemy will keep wasting their points, while you can stack up your points faster. Hasten World made everything WAY easier for me because of my playstyle of getting a lot of BP so that I could unleash attacks for one turn and then go back to the defensive.
Some other random Job Combos:
Edea - Knight/Ninja(Turn Tables, Transience, Comeback Kid, Hasten World): This allowed Edea to make herself the Target and then defend. Using Utsusemi and Kairai, she would dodge an attack, and on that dodge she would gain 25% on Physical and Magic Attack, do a counter-attack, and get an extra BP point. This only works well with enemies that use physical attacks, which is why I don't use this all the time. It still works well though, because Knights just get a lot of defense anyway, and she has at least a bit of attack power.
Edea - SwordMaster/Conjurer: The only ability I remember her having with this combo was Hasten World. The reason for this combo is the Swordmaster's ability Free Lunch, which allows you to use no MP for two turns. During those two turns, you can pretty much max out on all your stats with the buffs from the summons. Downside to this: You have to get all the summons. Other than that this is a strong class that can do a lot of damage with, counter well, and stay alive because of increased defense.
Ringabel - Dark Knight/Freelancer + Agnes build: Use the above mentioned Agnes build for a way to completely WIPE OUT ENEMIES. This combo is awesome to have for grinding especially should you decide to go down that route. This is a very dangerous build to use if you aren't careful in making sure that Agnes has ATLEAST 12 more points on Agility than Ringabel. Have Agnes use Enigma, which makes you nullify elemental damage. Ringabel has a move that deals QUADRUPLE DAMAGE to BOTH SIDES for only 20% of max HP. You can use auto-battle and press A to grind your way through most terrains post-chapter 4. Make sure that Ringabel's order to use skills is Treat, Dark Nebula, Treat, Dark Nebula. AND MAKE SURE AGNES IS FASTER. IF AGNES IS NOT FASTER YOU WILL KILL YOURSELF. If you're worried about this, make sure you get a shield that nullifies dark damage and have everyone equip it (This will make Ringabel much weaker, but hey, you won't be killing yourself every now and then).
If you want anymore I will gladly PM you out of Anon. Hope this helps you or anyone else who needs it. Good luck with your game!
