I'm having thoughts of each crew member giving something to luffy to swear their allegiance and loyalty when joining and for luffy to have something of each member with him at all times, which I'll eventually elaborate on in a separate post, but for jimbe im thinking one of his teeth, that luffy makes into a necklace. different situations can play out for this one but one thing would be funny:
-> once luffy finds out jimbe is a whale shark fish-man he immediately asks if his teeth can regrow like arlong and when jimbe replies with yes luffy then asks if he could show him. jimbe might be puzzled or hesitant for a second but then promptly pulls out this teeth. luffy grabs them with sparkles in his eyes, exclaiming “so cool!” jimbe suggests he can keep them. nami helps make a necklace out of it.
luffy’s growth 🥺 I’m realizing he’s not shown bowing in the manga for fishman island but I actually love this addition in the anime and in the dub he says “please, I'm begging you! whatever it takes! I can't let my friend die!”
