Analysis of 01e01s BBT

Oh my. What have I gotten myself into.

The first episode is a good and at the same time terrible start to the series. We get to know all the important characters (although I would have preferred that Howard and Rajesh hadn't appeared yet because their role in the episode is so small that I'd rather focus on the rest) and their general character. Not much can be said about Howard and Rajesh, except that after the first episode I already know why Wolowitz is my least favorite character. For that we have a bit of information about the main three.

Sheldon has changed the least, I'd say he's a character who is the same from beginning to end. He often refers to pop culture and science, and is gruff but not unsympathetic. Everything that is central to his character, and interestingly enough, apparently the creators wrote him from the beginning as a person with autism.

Penny has changed strongly in the course, in later seasons she is a strong woman, often gruff who has a strong character, and here she is completely bimbo. It doesn't bother me, I think if she had stayed that character until the end she would still be a cool character.

Leonard, unfortunately, is the worst character. He is the stereotype of the "nice guy", nerdy, nice but on the other hand he happens to behave creepily, does nice things to get Penny's attention and fantasizes about being with her and having children after not even one day of knowing her.

Humor? At start, we get a joke about sperm donation, about how "weird" Sheldon acting, and a joke about trans and gay people. Wonderful? Isn't it?

In the end, it was not a terrible episode and, knowing this series, it was quite okay.

Analysis of 04e01s BBT

This episode is interesting because of one thing in particular. I forgot that we see Sheldon's family so early on, what happened!? I really thought it was an invention of later seasons and…. huh… Young Sheldon and here suddenly we see his mother who gives really a lot of information about their family.

Aside from that little thing this episode is extremely mid. The jokes are mid (except for the final scene, this one is okay), the characters are mid, literally even Howard doesn't piss me off that much.

And the worst thing is that Sheldon is out of character. Yes, I believe he could offend his boss if he thought he was stupid and the fact that he would listen to his mom, but the part with the sudden interest, the conversations with Penny and Leonard absolutely don't fit with how he would behave. Like, I get that the idea is that he acts weird when he has nothing to do but I miss the stress of change, the loss of a job. Also more than egg research or sewing, I would expect him to try to make a death ray to kill his supervisor.

Analysis of 03e01s BBT

The third episode I can honestly call "really cool". Earlier episodes, despite the fact that I had previously given them as good, were given this rank only because I know how low this series can fall. The third episode for this honestly deserves it.

The episode focuses on the fact that it looks like Penny has a new boyfriend and Leonard stops believing he has a chance with her.

It's nice to watch this because of one thing, Lenard changes here and stops being the creep he was in previous episodes. From the beginning we learn that he does fucked up things such as stealing Penny's mail to have an excuse to talk to her (and people say Wokulski is a creep, a reference for pols) to the moment where on a "date" he is trying to impress her in the most innocent way, which being honest, is pretty cute. The problem with this plot is that, as we can see, Leonard and Penny have no chemistry between them or literally nothing to talk about. They, shouldn't be together, and unfortunately the series and the creators want very much to show us that they have each other's backs, despite the fact that no, they don't have each other's backs.

Despite everything, this is a really nice episode. It's also nice to see that Leonard is not closing himself off to relationships with other women just because he loves Penny.

It's not the funniest, the jokes seem pretty flat but at least it's not terrible.

No one has ever spoken with so much passion like me when I mention how I hate Myslovitz. This song may be the best example of that.

I hate Myslovitz but not because I think everything they make sucks. I would even say the opposite. I hate Myslovitz because they destroy all instrumentals with vocals and uninteresting lyrics.

"Wszystkie Narkotyki Świata" (eng. All the Drugs of the World) Can be the song with the best music. And while this may sound like an exaggeration, in my eyes it is not. This is definitely the best instrumental Myslovitz in my opinion, beating other classes like "Długość dźwięku samotności", "W Deszczu Maleńkich Żółtych Kwiatów" (The most competent song by Myslovitz in my opinion, however not my favourite) or "Scenariusz dla moich sąsiadów". For the first 37 seconds, I experience an incredible combination of sounds that can make you shiver. However, the experience ends at 38 seconds, the vocal that don't fit the song, is too loud and the voice is uninteresting, detached from what we heard before in an unintentional way.

The moment when my blood boils the most is the chorus, the worst part of almost every Myslovitz song. While the writing isn't great, it's not bad too, but it becomes so. The choruses and the narrator who, despite the melancholic overtones of the song, somehow sings with a strange joy despite literally singing about his dissatisfaction with life. They destroy everything that was wonderful about this song. Drowning out the wonderful guitar in the background.

It's the same with almost every Myslovitz song. Music that stands out above the rest, verses that you can wave your hand at (sometimes they can be exceptionally good) and at the end choruses that suck. Whenever I hear any Myslovitz song I want to bite someone!
