fondest breakfast memory ?:D & thank you for this project sad that it’s coming to an end soon

I used to get up at 4:30 a.m. every day to catch the bus for high school. I went to a program downtown and got bussed in from the middle of nowhere. Every day for four years my mom got up at 5 a.m. to make tea for us while I ate breakfast. Soon I’ll be as old as she was back then and I know, now, how rough that must have been!! She was never a morning person and I always was. She’d always listen to my gossip and my troubles, though. And waited for the bus with me. There was a time, for a while, that I just slammed a breakfast drink instead of eating well, but looking back it was still 4 years of the best breakfasts ever.

I’m so happy that you have enjoyed the project! It has been a part of my life for ten years and I know it’ll be strange not to have fortunes to scan and queue and compile for asks. But it’s been interesting and I’m glad I stuck with it!

May I please have a fortune? Also, saw that you liked breakfast foods in a prior ask. Do you have a preference between waffles and pancakes? 🤔

Oh wow, I like waffles and pancakes so much, but up against one another? I pick pancakes. Waffles have a little more heft and space where they can pick up and hold toppings, but I like my ingredients--fruits, chocolate chips, flavorings, even nuts--baked right into my pancakes so every bite is a texture surprise! Also you can go easy or fancy with pancakes to a great degree. There are box mixes or there are scratch mixes that give a good depth of flavor. For waffles, when you make from scratch, you generally have to have a press or waffle iron. Pancakes only need a pan or skillet. You can even make them in a coffee mug like a mug brownie. Yeah. It’s pretty close but I do like pancakes a bit more. Thanks for asking!
