What a unique one-of-a-kind piece I just added to my ever-expanding Breaking Bad collection! This “HERO” syringe and needle was screen-used by none other than Jesse Pinkman and Jane Margolis, actors Aaron Paul and Krysten Ritter! In the entertainment industry, a hero prop refers to any object that will be held or used by the main actor. “Hero” also indicates that the item will be high-quality, detailed, and available for use in close-up shots. It even includes the original “Official Prop - Do Not Remove” label from production, too! 🎥💉
This prop was used in the twelfth episode of Season 2 titled “Phoenix,” when Jane introduces Jesse to heroin, leading to their relapse into drug use. A turning point in the series for a number of characters, the episode culminates with Walt watching a helpless Jane asphyxiate on her own vomit. He silently cries from his resolution to let her die, as he saw her as a negative influence on Jesse and knew that it would eliminate any chance of her exposing them.

According to the official Certificate of Authenticity from Sony Pictures Television though, he was wearing this on screen at some point in the series… Time for another rewatch to try and spot it! 📺👀

This would have been worn/used by Mike in the thirteenth episode of Season 3 titled “Full Measure,” when he goes to visit a warehouse owned by Gus Fring's chemical supplier, Duane Chow. Upon arriving, Mike disables the building's electricity and effortlessly kills all four of the hitmen holding Chow and his secretary hostage.
