The anxiety is a big problem. According to “The UK Mental Health Foundation”, anxiety is present in 30% of people.
Surely most of us suffer from moderate anxiety, or at least we know someone who cares too much about things.
It is undoubtedly one of the most common problems today. It has also been discovered that women have higher levels of anxiety than men .
This can manifest itself in different ways, from fears and phobias to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) to tricholomania (hair pulling).
The most common type is generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), which can be described as the “chronic worry” (“It’s getting late, it was probably hit by a car”), sleeping problems, irritable bowel and tension throughout the body.
Surely you have also felt this once, but if this is recurrent and is affecting your life, it is time to do something about it. The first step to solve this, is to recognize that there is a problem and make the decision to do something about it.
It is important that if you suspect that you suffer from anxiety, talk with your doctor to have an even more accurate diagnosis. Meanwhile, here are some of the most effective techniques to combat this problem.
The art of distraction
It may not be a long-term solution , but you can try trying to distract yourself with something else. Every time you notice the first symptoms or feelings of anxiety.
Put on a BRAKE!
And quickly find something else to do. Pick up the phone and talk to a friend, go for a run, write something or just concentrate on how you breathe.
Breathe
Breathe, watching your abdomen expand like a balloon and let it flatten with the exhale. Sit comfortably, inhale for about 7 seconds and exhale for about 10.

You can count fast or slow, do it as you feel more comfortable. Do this for a few minutes or just until you feel more calm.
Your thoughts are not always true
Just because you think something does not mean it’s true. Thoughts for anxiety are generally irrational or distorted.
Worried that someone at work is upset with you? If there is no reason why you would be, recognize that it is your tendency to always think the worst of each case. Always try to look positively at the world.
Dear Diary
Writing in a journal not only helps you see things from another perspective, but also the physical act of writing has an effect on the mind. Try to write a little every day.
Move all your feelings and thoughts of anxiety to a role, and you’ll see how you’ll feel better.
Once you’ve done this, try writing down the things you’re grateful for (I’m grateful for my family / my home / my health) or smaller things (it’s a sunny day / this coffee has a great flavor).
It is shown that by doing this type of exercise, the feeling of well-being increasesand the symptoms of anxiety decrease.
Answer yourself
This technique has been taken from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This means that you write down a concern and then give it a “rational response” .
For example, “My presentation was terrible, I’m a failure, I’m bad at everything”, you could answer it like this: “The presentation did not go as well as I would have expected, however I learned a lot and that’s what really matters, besides nobody He will remember this presentation in a few days. “
This type of exercise also helps your mind to see things in a more rational way.
