Author's summary: "Arrogance and impulse control -- too much of one means too little of the other. Lines are drawn, alliances are forged, and nothing in Beckett's city will ever be the same again."
Notes: Thirty-two hours of queer vampires and their scheming vampire gang politics!!! I listened to this whole story over just five days in an obsessed blur. Both the writing and the reading are beautifully done, creating a thoroughly enjoyable dark, gritty urban fantasy tale. I like my vampires badass, violent and amoral, with traditions and a culture all their own, and this certainly fits the bill. It starts off a little slow with the first installment (a rather typical unusual-human-high-school-student-catches-eye-of-vampire,-gets-stalked story), but keep going, because Epic Plot and gang wars are coming to keep you on the edge of your seat. A Sixteen Candles 'verse AU, which non-Bandom vampire-podfic enthusiasts can easily follow with the help of the introductory links on reena_jenkins' masterpost.
I repeat. QUEER VAMPIRE GANG WARS.
