Good food, greater company.
I love food. Period. I love all food except those that contain animals. Yes, I’m vegetarian and before you exclaim “WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR PROTEIN FROM?!” I’d like to state that there are plenty of protein bursting foods out there in the world!
Such as the ‘Naked’ Bruschetta at Surry Hill’s Devon Cafe! The cafe is a short walk from Central Station and is bustling with customers wanting to have a healthy and nourishing meal.
The chef impeccably combines Meredith’s goat’s curd, roasted and pickled beetroot, avocado, kale crumble and a soft boiled egg on a crunchy walnut bread. I have had a plethora of the typical bruschetta, tomato and basil combos but this was definitely a standout. Good on you Devon, I would definitely come back to demolish this again.
My friends and I then took the train to Newtown to pay Black Star Pastry, Dr Earth and Brewtown Newtown a long overdue visit. We spent a considerable amount of time chatting whilst stuffing ourselves with glazed ‘Brewnuts’ and sipping on this delicious Breu beverage. Breu drinks are now stocked at Dr Earth. Watch this space because I think they’re going to be the next big thing!
I’m currently on the hunt for a decent camera so there will be more pictures in future posts!
