My order of @muchadoaboutmolly‘s book, Nothing Happened, has shipped!!!
Years ago, chaos cut through this atmosphere. The fractured worlds that inhabit this space were once locked in a force of uncontrollable destruction. Gravity...
NEW COHEED MUSIC!!!!!!
@nainami and @eze-torso-talking
The anxiety beast is really fucking strong right now, and I could use some good vibes. I've got so much going on - all good things, but very big changes - and I'm entirely overwhelmed by it all.
I’m moving in just under two months.
Is it too early to start packing? Yes.
Is that going to stop me? Not even a little bit.
Bring on the boxes and packing tape!
My heart is glowing today, for no other reason than I know how loved I am.
Who ever thought it could be this good? <3
I’m ready for the day to be done. We had a two hour lunch meeting for all the faculty/staff from our college (the college being the smaller unit within the university) and I’m so. incredibly. drained.
They introduced me as a new staff (I just had to stand up and wave, but still: UGH (#introvert)), and then there was lunch. Full of food I couldn’t eat. So I packed my own measly little meal and most of the people I was eating with left it alone.
But one woman. One woman asked, “Oh, are you particular about your food.”
“Nope. I just have a lot of food sensitivities so I prefer to pack my own meals.” [Okay. First of all: RUDE.]
“Oh, so you have allergies?”
“There’s just a lot of foods I can’t eat.” [No, and this is really none of your business.]
“Like what?”
“Too many to list.” [How about we drop the subject now.]
Thankfully that finally shut her up.
(She did then go on to share that she is gluten-free and has been since the early-90s, so I recognize that she may have just been trying to bond with someone else who has food restrictions. But at a faculty/staff lunch across a table of 10 is not the place to do it.)
Lady. Seriously. Can you not tell that your questions are INCREDIBLY invasive and inappropriate for a work function? I don’t know you, other than a cursory introduction, and I don’t know most of the others seated around the table. I am uncomfortable with this whole situation, so please STOP making me the center of attention for something like this.
I wish people understood that. I don’t mind giving the first explanation, but then leave it alone!
Soooo.....
I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!! Out of 120 applications, they picked ME! It still feels surreal.
It's a pay cut, but regular hours, no weekends or holidays, and I'll be back on a college campus which is closer to my long-term career goals. I'm so excited!!!! Thank you to all the fingers and toes out there that were crossed for me. 💜
