You know what my favorite thing in the whole wide world is? Meetings that could have been emails.
Especially when they last for an hour and a half, but only FIFTEEN MINUTES was actual business.
Kill me.

I absolutely love working with and managing students! I do non-profit program evaluation for my job as a Research Coordinator, working on a research team under a research manager. Our team just hired a third student research assistant, and it is my job to manage these students. This includes walking new students through the on-boarding process, assigning tasks, and monitoring their progress.
It. Is. A. Blast! Of course, it helps that I supervise some awesome students. But I also just really love the chance to set students up with opportunities to learn new things and expand their skills. It is SO GREAT seeing them grow and igniting new passions in them. I would die happy if I found a job that allowed me to do something like that full-time, but for now I will just enjoy the parts of my job that allow me to do those things some of the time. :)
Comparable to (but not quite the same as) “It’s freezing out! That Global Warming thing is total bullshit!” is the following exchange I just had…
Them: Is that a new coat?
Me: No, I’ve had it for a while.
Them: I’ve never seen it before.
Me: Well, I just haven’t worn it yet this season because it hasn’t been cold enough.
Them: I didn’t see you wear it last Fall.
Me: I’ve had it for five years.
Them: But I’ve never seen you wear it.
Ah, yes! I forgot, if you haven’t seen me wear it, it must be because it is brand new. In fact, I didn’t even have it on until you laid eyes on me and suddenly it formed around me, like a warm cocoon.
In other news, I might be incredibly grumpy and in no mood for any human interaction this morning.
