When we put ourselves in a position to make a judgment, or even like an assumption, about the Almighty God, we do not know what we are talking about. We are completely ill-informed. And the only way we're ever going to become informed is to be in God's presence as a son or a daughter, not as an accuser. Remember this story and how it began? Who is the accuser in the story? Satan. So why would we want to do Satan's work by becoming an accuser of God?

Personal time

Every single one of us has been bestowed the gift of eternal life and the fruit of the spirit is available to us.  We have been given the authority of the kingdom as ambassadors.  We have been given talent, treasure, gifts with which to steward on behalf of the kingdom, but a lot of the time everything that we have goes into how can we make our own personal space better?    It’s not that our personal space shouldn’t be better.  It’s that our personal space is kind of the end game.  That is sort of the goal, not losing sight in the process that we are actually working on behalf of the king stewarding what he has entrusted us with.  Someday we’ll be having a conversation about that, about what we did with that.   -Brian Hardin

That you are here is a gift. A beautiful, extravagant, decadent, overgenerous, excessive gift. Something precious given by One who is hopelessly in love with you. Desperately enamored of you. Fascinated beyond words with you and longing to collaborate in what comes next for you. God is so invested in you that He put His own breath in you, molded you in His image, and stood back and said that you are “good.” God was dreaming about you before you ever showed up.

If Jesus had wanted...

God has made clear what he's chosen to reveal. Other things, perhaps, he's waiting to reveal within the intimacy of an actual relationship. If Jesus had wanted to solidify every single Christian doctrine and lock into place every conceivable eventuality, then He could have simply sat down with a scribe and dictated the New Testament from His own lips before departing. Instead God chose to continue to speak as He always has-by inspiring people. Brian Hardin

The promise is that his offspring will inhabit the land and his descendants will be as many as the stars in the heavens or the sands on the seashore, so it is going to be hard for that to happen if he is not alive anymore. Although things don’t seem like they are adding up, all Abraham can do is trust. We certainly find ourselves in this position sometimes, but as we look back on our lives and when we have found that all we can do is trust and take another step, those are the times that we’ve learned the most. Those are the times that have actually crafted in us a character that we would not have had otherwise. They have actually cemented some things in place in our lives.
