I assume this original character was based or inspired on Susan “Sue” Xiang. But, once again, the Hellboy adaptations present reprehensible behaviors, as she is a love interest for Hellboy, and it takes place during the 50s. Which means Hellboy was barely between 13/5 years old.
It is known that it is a younger version of Hellboy, but doing the math, he is literally a teenager.
Brian Taylor, "Preacher Walking"
Brian Taylor is an Inspiration
I have loved and followed the work of Brian Taylor for a long time. He inspires me to make authentic, beautiful, hand-made photographic works of art. His books and folios which mix words and mixed media prints are just stunning. I love the tears and flaws which show me how they are constructed and assembled.
Mom and Dad
2.5/5
Brian Taylor clearly got on theme of “sometimes parents want to throttle their kids” and thought he had a big smart idea. This could be some dumb child-murdering fun, but the goreless carnage of the first half prevents that from happening. The second half is where the actual movie starts, but the fun of the climax keeps getting interrupted by dumb flashbacks that hammer home the obvious themes. A killer Mr. Bill score and some typically hammy Cage keeps this from being a total waste of time, but it’s frustrating how the script feels several drafts from done.
