A little secret project I worked on for all of the VA guests attending Animecon UK in London in February 2024. I had them printed and framed and they loved them! I've also worked with Keith for years as a print artist so it was amazing finally getting to meet him. 🩷

Y'know, after Catherine Full Body had Brianna Knickerbocker in it as Rin, she became one of the number one actors I wanted to have a future role in the Persona series. Partially because basically everyone else in the Catherine cast was a (now former) actor in the old versions of Persona 3 or Persona 4. Troy Baker being Kanji, Laura Bailey being Rise, Michelle Ruff being Yukari, Travis Willingham being Theo, Liam O'Brien being Akihiko, Yuri Lowenthal being Yosuke and Makoto, Erin Fitzgerald being Chie, and Kirk Thornton being King Moron. Kirk is now the current Igor, and Jamieson Price, who was the narrator in that game, is Sojiro in Persona 5. The overlap with Persona was heavy in that regard.

She was actually one of my first choices for who I wanted to voice Sumi way back in the P5 Royal pre-release days, though obviously that went to Laura Post who nonetheless did an admirable job. At the time I was like "Oh well, here's to Brianna being in Persona 6 instead...whenever that happens".

But now she's actually in Persona 4 Revival instead as the new Yukiko. And hearing her performance more in the recently released sizzle character trailer, she's doing a great job! She's got the laughing fit down pat, and she nails the character really well.

So I'm happy she gets to be Yukiko, and I think she's got this role down perfectly.

It’s been a hot minute since I came into your blog with a question but I’m just wondering….

What’s your opinion on Brianna Knickerbocker? (She did Sakura, Charlotte, Ninian and Est)

Ok I will say this: I LIKE Brianna, but I have really only liked one of her roles, and that's Charlotte. I do love Sakura and I think her voice is perfect, but her performance as Charlotte is easily the best and funniest role she's done. Additionally, she plays F!Akira Howard in Astral Chain and while I like Brianna, gosh DAMN do I hate Akira.

So performance-wise, she does fantastic. Sakura and Ninian are shy, reserved, and quiet (and Sakura is timid), while Est and Charlotte are both bubbly in different ways. And like I said, her role as Charlotte is just too perfect. I love the little valley-girl dialect she kind of adds to Charlotte in some of her lines. Easily she's never had a bad performance with any of those characters.

I think she absolutely fits all of them, too. I can't imagine anyone else who could play Charlotte and Est.

Range is... not huge? But again, Brianna's one of those actresses who relies on tone rather than actually changing her voice, so it's not a huge thing for me.

I'd say Brianna's an 8/10. And I really hope we get another Charlotte alt soon.
