the D&D party ousted our small town’s corrupt mayor, and we were gonna start a public library out of his old house, but we’re adventurers so the only books we have access to are 1. a large number of academic texts written in a dead language which we found in several deserted underground research libraries, and 2. a single magic box that generates a random book whenever you return the last one

I refuse to take useful and well-meaning internet advice about how to play a druid so I’m just guessing day to day about what spells might be good
so far- big surprise- I want to use the weirdest shit possible, but don’t like ending up with a handful of spell cards totally inapplicable to the situation, because of course if you take shit like Cure Wounds and Detect Magic it will always be relevant...annoying
my favorite thing about our 5e campaign, which is an adventure-of-the week thingy based out of a small town, is that usually one establishes a Hellmouth or a Stargate or a Rift to explain why all of the mysterious shit keeps happening here, specifically, but we didn’t do that, so its either
“fuck this small town in particular”
or
“this is just what living in the D&D universe is LIKE”
