All the Budget Brides out there, these tips are for you
Brides are no different than anyone walking on a tight budget these days. The fact is, when most of your money goes on gas and food, organizing a formal wedding is next to impossible. All would be simpler if you just had a ceremony, a cake followed by a simple reception. But that’s simple is boring, right? As a child you always dreamed of big, formal and fun wedding, and with or without money, you know you’re gonna have it.
So what to do? You start scanning for areas where you can cut back and save money. Given below are some tips
Areas like photography, dress and reception musicians can’t be avoided. Your photos make the memories, so they can’t be bad at all. The dress is what will make you look like a princess, so there is no compromise in that. Finally, music is the key to setting the right mood. Whether a live band or a DJ, it’s the bride’s choice.
That being said, there are plenty of other places to save money. First would be to WATCH FOR SALES. Since you know you can't afford your own wedding designer, you'll be doing the decorations yourself. Thus, you need to look closely inside your local craft stores. Ribbons, floral, and other wedding necessities go on sale semi-annually, so pay attention. Want to know your Citibank routing number?
Candles are usually an important part of a wedding. You can have either unity candle or remembrance candle for the ceremony, and candles can certainly create that ambience for your reception. The best time to get candles is right after the holidays, when all the holiday stock goes on sale. You can get loads of candles, whichever you want, for 50 percent or more off.
Flowers are another and equally important decorative item. If you have time, the best way to save money is to visit a fresh flower market the morning of the wedding and pick them up yourself. This way is far cheaper than having a florist do it for you, but it does take up a bit of your time. If you would prefer a florist, a good way to save money is to pick the flowers up yourself. Don't have them delivered to your site.
When it comes to food, you cannot compromise here too and that cake is special. While you want to save some dollars, dedicate some time to shop around for the lowest prices in catering and cakes that suits your budget. As far as alcohol goes, it’s not an option for a budget bride. If it is such a necessity, look for a vineyard or somewhere similar which sells wholesale so that it is cheaper. Although, you should try to avoid it because it’s a bit too costly.
As far as your accessories go, being minimalistic is great. Do your own makeup and hair or have some good friend or relative do it. If you want some alterations done on the dress, get avoid getting it done from the shop you bought it. Alterations are where most shops make their killings. Look around for a place that can do the changes at lower rates.
The general idea is, if you wish to save money on your weeding, shop around. Be on a lookout for sales, and stretch your money as far as it can go. Keep in mind to spend the most your money on the most important things and least on things that don’t matter. Good luck, budget bride, and keep saving!
