Bridge Constructor Portal
If you’ve been on the internet for A Long Time, you may remember the original flash game of Bridge Constructor making the rounds across all those cool neopets and webcomics forums you joined that no longer exist because the whole internet homogenised into 3 websites which are all in direct competition to be as awful as possible. It was an early example of a game that simulated actual real-world physics including tension which made it both very, very cool and also very, very hard.
What was painfully missing from the original was- of course- constant belittling and insults from a murderous AI whose only motivation is watching you succeed so you can fail again later. This obvious and glaring omission is now finally addressed in BCP, which rewards players with interstitial dialogue from GLaDOS reminding you of your place in the universe (beneath her) for making the perfect arrangement of triangles to survive the onslaught of physics objects.
But it wouldn’t be Portal without... portals! which add another mathslady.gif-worthy consideration to the already-mindmelting amount of calculations to be made. Can your bridge survive the impact of a vehicle catapulting onto it from the ceiling? Almost certainly not.
Fin or Bin:
Suffice it to say, I am not good at this stuff. I am an IT technician because computers very rarely interact with the laws of physics, the specifics of which are so utterly beyond my comprehension that I probably gave every structural engineer within 10 miles a toothache when I played this. It’s a tough one, but GLaDOS’ lines are all fully voiced by Ellen McLain who has not lost her touch at all, which more than makes Finishing the levels worth all the headaches.

Bridge Constructor: Portal Announced
‘Portal’ is getting a sequel, of sorts. Headup Games, makers of the popular ‘Bridge Construction’ series, have announced a ‘Portal’ themed version of the game. From the company’s website:
We welcome all lucky applicants to Bridge Constructor Portal with our new vehicle-based test chambers, Quantum Tunnels and patented Aperture technology! For the last year we've been secretly working in our underground labs on the next iteration of the million-selling Bridge Constructor series. This new stand-alone title will release on PC, MacOS, Linux, mobile devices, and console, and fully embraces the Portal license, one of the most beloved video game franchises of the last decade.
‘Bridge Constructor: Portal’ will release on December 20th.
Love the Bridge Constructor vids by @therealjacksepticeye so here’s a Jack GLaDOS and a Sam Wheatley :P
Licensed expansion almost counts as Valve's first "new" game in years.
