I'm playing Halo 2 for the first time and already Master Chief is the coolest character I've ever seen. What do you mean he rode a giant spiky alien bomb out the back of a spaceship and launched it into an arc-reactor-nuclear-core-thing. Which then blew up an alien ship. I think. I was just staring at the screen, mesmerized. Less than an hour into the game. This is great.

I do find it objectively hilarious that Caius Cosades, the guy you are sent to at the start of the game under orders more or less from THE EMPEROR HIMSELF, and who is his royal spymaster, is just a weirdly shredded old drug addict who you meet and who instantly says, “yeah, you can crash at my place, just don’t touch my stuff.” Before sending you to do actual quest stuff.
