Abel's thrice repeated "would it help?" each time Donovan questions his lack of worry in Steven Spielberg's 'Bridge of Spies' (2015) is a good example of the maxim that you may not be able to control your circumstances but you can control how you react to them. Of course that's not always easy when stuff is actually happening but not worrying about things that may (or may not) happen in the future is certainly a good idea. When Jesus says "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself" (Matthew 6: 34) he's not saying don't worry because everything will be OK, but rather don't let the future spoil today. i.e. life is a precious gift, try to enjoy the moment and not let it be spoiled by things that haven't yet happened. Rylance's performance (which rightly earned him a supporting actor Oscar) is encapsulated in this phlegmatic attitude. And now tonight I have just finished watching #bridgeofspies with my dad Once again this movie that I'm not even too sure where to begin describing. From the very beginning of the film I was kind of on edge just wondering what exactly was going to happen and who could truly be trusted and by the end I was on the edge of my seat, scared for everyone but also waiting for that moment of peace.
