Dad,
I miss you. I’ve wanted to tell you that since the day you died, but I guess I never believed in the fact that you could actually hear it, even when I was that young. Too hard-headed, I guess. I got that from you. I’m not even sure if I believe that you can hear me now, and I’m not really sure if I want to, but I think I do. If I believe that you’re there, it gives me hope that there’s a chance we can see each other again.
It gives me hope that you and Owen are together again.
I don’t know what to do, dad. I’ve never felt so alone in my life, and I’m scared. I don’t know how to do this alone. I never learned how. We never learned how to cope when you died, because we didn’t have to. We had an entire neighborhood of people there for us.
For us. Us. Now it’s just me.
I miss you. I love you. And I hope you’re listening. I’ll write again soon.
Elle
