Rorke gets Hanahaki disease except he specifically starts coughing up Angel's Trumpets (same flower they use to make scopolamine cause of Devil's Breath) and it onsets after the brainwashing's successful and he's lost faith in Elias. Which makes him incredibly confused cause at that point, who the hell would he even love to cause this?
He keeps it a secret because he hates thinking about the implication of it. But then it gets to the plane scene and Elias has him pinned and halfway through his taunting, he's cut off because he starts coughing the blooms up, much to his utter horror.
#psst it's because for almost the entirety of the brainwashing he still held hope in Elias and felt like he Knew Elias would be doing--#--anything to save him. cause duh of Course he would. in that way Rorke felt like he was still loved in a sense.#and then when Elias clearly isn't coming for him that illusion ends and yeah the hatred is baked into him#BUT ☝️ he still feels obsession over Elias even if the love's shrouded and some deep part of him is haunted by yearning#which manifests into him coughing up the very thing used to shatter his identity and self.#and he doesn't want to admit why it's happening because he knows there's no other possible candidate but it also can't possibly be Elias-#-because he obviously hates Elias and he wants him dead so bad But Really he just wants Elias all to himself again#.... aaand end scene#I usually don't bother with hanahaki but the idea hit me and it felt too good to brush off#Gabriel t rorke#gabriel rorke#cod ghosts#call of duty ghosts#hanahaki#elias walker#bright rb
