What is your field (LCSW,MFT,PsyD, etc.) I have been approved to practice in the state of Maryland since 2010, first as a psychology associate and then as a licensed psychologist. I received my Bachelors in Psychology Princeton University and a Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University. I am a licensed clinical psychologist. Are you on PsychologyToday? Yes What are your specialties? Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Behavior Problems, Parenting, Applied Behavior Analysis. (But then also ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD) What do you enjoy about being a therapist? I truly enjoy helping people to make a change in their lives. There is nothing more satisfying then to know that someone's child is no longer harmful or destructive or that the child has overcome fear or impulsivity. In parents, I love to see them feel confident about how to engage their child in constructive and loving ways. And for my work with adults, helping them get to a place where they feel like they have gotten their lives back or have found themselves...that is why I enjoy being a psychologist. Fear of failure can be very paralyzing. For me it was a major reason why I waited so long to take the step of starting my own private practice. Starting a business of any kids is a big undertaking and for a long time I doubted whether starting a practice was right for me. . In the last six weeks of seeing clients it has been 💯% worth it.
